Why good? Not questioning your opinion because everyone has one and it's theirs to have. I'm just wondering why you think it's good. BTW, I have posted my reasons for why I think it's unfortunate in another thread but will copy and paste it if you can't find it...

The guy sounds like a malcontent to me and for all the other reasons that have been posted on this board. Primarily, he's done pretty well in the RMAC but that's not anything close to the Big Sky. I think you have to be concerned about how his teams have performed when they've gotten to the playoffs.

Not sure how the other previous final 3 candidates (less Stitt) feel but I can understand his perspective. You're told you are one of 5 finalists, one drops out and one of the decision makers makes a public statement that they are happy with the final pool and WILL NOT be going out of it to search further. He goes on to say the decision will be within a week. Then out of the blue, you bring in a high school coach (who has had success at that level) that was not even in the orginial screening to interview and further prolong the process. I can see how the "finalist" would feel like that is a slap in the face! Also, none of the candidates (including the high school coach) brings a winning D-1AA playoff record to the table so how does that differ from what Stitt brings? He has turned a program around and we need that! Plus, his offensive philosphies fit our current talent pool and it could lead to wins coming out of the gate in 2011.

Again, just my thoughts on why I think it's unfortunate...

Longer this goes on, more likely another candidate or two may fold up. I can't see O'Boyle hanging on the string much longer, he's got his job to do.

I think Stitt was the best candidate. This is just another reflection about how Hinrichs is an idiot. At this point he is just pulling a power move to show everyone that he is the top dog by stringing a lot of good coaches and other programs along. Pretty bad when two RMAC coaches pull out because Jay has his head up his ass. Jay needs to go today.

I disagree (you know this). Stiff and O'boyle win in the RMAC. My grandma can win in that conference. I do agree that Jay is screwing this up big time.

Yeah but you're also the same guy that wanted Scott to get another year so your evaluation of coaches is suspect. :D

Beardown,

Didn't OB beat UNC while at CSC. That would be a big yes, so I guess even UNC and your grandma couldn't win in that conferece. Stitt in my opinion was the best man for the job. I have alot of respect for Logan and seem to think it could work. Collins and Breske realize that UNC isn't UNC of the past. UNC needs new blood.

I actually thought he had already dropped out... but I'm not sure he was a good fit, his only public comment on the job was that the salary was too low...

He seems like a drama queen to me I think the Greeley blue colar mentality would eat him alive, it's not Golden.

You guys seem to jump around from candidate to candidate based on the most part off of emotion. Talk about offensive and defensive schemes, coaching philosophies and how that of your strong candidate will help our program win based on what we have. I would like to be persuaded to feel better about the situation as a whole.

It as been said we are close talent wise and I agree with that; translate who you think should get the job into the catagories I listed above. Do we have "Football People" on this board or just bandwagon fans?

Bring it, a good argument would make me feel a lot better!

The problem is we aren't privy to the interviews so it's hard at least for me to go all in on a candidate. I don't really care who is hired as long as it's the right man for the job so I know I'm guilty of jumping all over I just don't know enough to go all in on one of them.
