Stop the presses! We have to color-coordinate next season!

It's not an important topic by any stretch of the imagination, but, the NCAA has banned same color uniforms as the turf. Basically it was adopted to take away the Boise State (and EWU) "color advantage". However, in the name of fairness, schools who don green have to abide by the same rule. Basically we can only wear green tops or green bottoms. Not a problem, but funny. No links as its only being leaked on twitter, and I do not use twitter, but its on a lot of other forums.

Actually, this rule is very much welcomed in EWU's case. That field is harsh on the eyes, and when they wear all red, its doubly hard.

I hate our all green look. Im fine with the white pants. I'd also love it if they brought back the gold pants. Its been since 2003 or 2004 since we last had green tops/gold pants. Or if we got gold tops, I'd love to see those with green pants at home.

...that our monochrome green unis are now illegal. At least, that's my take on a thread over at CS.com. Of course, I could easily be misinterpreting it.

The purpose seems to be to prevent home teams from camouflaging themselves into the field a la Boise State and Eastern Washington. Apparently, the rule ALSO specifically includes green for the vast majority of schools who still have some form of green turf. Not a problem for schools who don't have a primary color that matches the color of their field, but if my interpretation is correct, we COULD have an issue.

If this is true, it's no sweat off my back since I'm not a fan of monochrome anyway. I would VERY much prefer a green and gold pattern, with a gold alternate jersey for homecoming. But I think some of you liked the monochrome green. Is this a bad rule?

FWIW, I don't think there's a wrong answer here. I'm just interested in your opinion.

Yeah, I'd like to see more gold on our uniforms; green and white is Michigan State. We barely have any gold now - only a little dab on the helmet. Sperbeck must not like the color gold is the only thing I can figure. Katz isn't adverse to using it and I like that.
