Thought you'd all like to hear some positive news from the university as a break from all the other crap going on out there...

Not thrilled with the "two-headed monster" going on here. I'd MUCH rather see ONE strength and conditioning director. They're telling the Olympic sports director that she's not good enough to coach football players...which is bogus....

Um, the football program is using the same s&c coach as they did last season. Considering the success, why should they consider changing? Short answer: they shouldn’t. And there’s nothing wrong with it.

I find it more bogus that you’d even go down that path. Not every decision has to be about gender.

Nothing personal against SH, but I’m far past tired of this gender thing being brought up ad nauseam.

I’ve got nothing against qualified women (or men) landing jobs in fields where the opposite gender dominates. But each time they don’t land that job or when someone considers a member of the opposite gender a ‘better’ fit for the gig — it doesn’t always automatically have to only be about their gender (or race) as to why. Other factors come into play.

I’m equally against people landing opportunities due to their gender or race just as much as not landing the opportunity for the same reasons.

People should be able to hire and employ the person(s) they feel are best for the position. Unless it can be proven, accusing anybody of genderism or racism or whatever ism is irresponsible IMO. And there’s far too much of that going around these days.

In this particular case, they clearly feel that the current s&c coach for the football team is the best fit for needs of that program. And based upon their historic season in 2019, how can anybody really make a valid argument against?

Now, off my soapbox.....
