The So. Miss QB is here and staying with some players. I hear that he throws a good ball.Beardown said:Anyone have a clue about what's been happening this summer with the players? How many stayed behind in Greeley? Is the Southern Miss QB here yet? Who are the leading candidates for captains?

Based upon all-conference honors, upper classman, and well-respected/liked, my guess that the leading candidates on D would be: Risner, Lenoir, Sanders, and Dubose. On O: Newsome, Zamora, Hendrickson, Piechowski, Leslie, Miller. Sanders and Hendrickson did not receive all-conferenc honors, yet are well respected and seem to be leaders. Just my thoughts.

They are pissed off becuase Coach Collins only gave them partial scholarships. They all said that they have been promised an increase in their scholarships from Coach Collins. They thought that they would get more considering that three players who were scheduled to receive full rides this fall will not even be on the team (i.e. Rubes, Vandy and Rhodes). They are also pissed that he is giving the full rides to newly recruited players instead of taking care of the players who are here. They all said that they feel taken advantage of when they are showing around recruits that they know will be getting more money than them. One starter told me that he has over $30K in student loans, and still has two more years to play. They say that they can't talk to Coach Collins because he is unapproachable and gets defensive whenever they ask him a question (doesn't sound like a player's coach to me). They also said that when they talk to their position coach, the position coach says that Coach Collins makes ALL the scholarship decisions, without their input. I am sure that they may be stretching the truth a bit, but the important thing is that they could care less about the head coach, who is supposed to be their leader. Not a good environment for success on the field. Shame on Coach Collins for messing with these young adult's lives. The longer Coach Collins remains a head coach, the lower (in pay, location and position) his next job will be. He is digging his own hole. I dare him to take an honest look in the mirror, and say he is 100% confident that he is capable of being a head coach at UNC.
The over/under for next season is 3. I'll take 2.

Well well well... Ive said this since day 1. This staff is a reflection of the individuals that have put them in charge. Those individuals are to blame for the well being of young men, I.E. Norton. You get what you pay for! Sad but true.
And as far as your over/under Ms. Kadee or whatever sex you identify with in the real world... Id say youre dead on. I personally hope he is relieved of duty after a week 4 loss to Weber.

I think Boyer would be a good head coach.

YES! ABSOLUTELY! Undoubtably this is the answer!
