I hear Thursday is Media Day. Starts around 2pm...

Is anything going on Wednesday evening or Friday? Is there a schedule anywhere?

I've been to the last two practices, think will stay home today, kind of tired. The past two days the team was put through a torrid pace of physical conditioning, and very hot out there on the grass field. Saw some of the Players vomiting out there. Tied to talk to Codi but they all move so damn fast I kept losing them. If you can get a Spokaneman Revied, there is a lot of information, and about have a test today, if he passes he can play, if not he is a man without a team. Vic Wallace

To All,
Like I said, the team is really going through some conditioning. You can tell which ones didn't do anything since the last game. One good thing, no one was lagging, even the big guys kept up. One of our former Kicker/P, Ryan Donkers was out at the practice. Our LB are looking great and mean as hell. Have been a very hard week for me so far, lost my younger sister in Miami. She died on Aug12 01:30 a.m. Miami time, she was 77 years old. She is Heaven with her mom & Dad, my wife and all. She will be greatly missed. "RIP" :( :( :( :( :( . Vic Wallace

I'm sorry for your loss Vic. You and the family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I've been at practice, but staying out of the football area so the kid can have his own space. I'm taking Friday off but will be there Saturday for the first day in pads.

GROUND&POUND,
I did respond on what I taught PM area, at least you got it. I was so tired after the practice left about 11:30 a.m. got home and had difficulty going to sleep. Found myself up at about 02:30a.m. couldn't get back to sleep, finally fell asleep my Grand Daughter came in and woke me up about 6 p.m. today. Hope I can get to sleep tonight. Will take off Friday from practice so I can get some flowers off for the Services next week Friday. Thanks for the condolences. We all will do two things in life, (PAY TAXES AND DIE). Bad we must do any. Will be at practice Saturday a.m. Codi looked good on the OL. We have some damn great looking addition to our Veteran Players. Vic Wallace

To All,
Got a schedule from Dave Cook yesterday at practice, the date is listed Aug 6, since the roster on July 10. Hope to see many of you at practice on Saturday. Coach Baldwin stated all the practices will be on the grass field in the back, until a week before the first game. Vic Wallace

To All,
Read on EWU Athletics our 1st meeting at the "Epic, Northern Quest" will be available for pick up, Tuesday Aug 18th. There will be meals to purchase. You cannot reserve seating, first come first serve. Starting time 5:30 p.m., seats are limited. Hope to see many of you there as possible, and make news friends. Vic Wallace

To All,
First day in PADS. I missed the last two practices, will be there to day. What I have seen of the team, after just 3-4 days practice, we will have an outstanding team. Not disrespecting our veterans, those Recruits are going to shock all that watches them, providing they remains healthy. I am not going to mention any names, Jim Allen Spokane Review will do that. Hope I can live up to not mentioning any names, it is very hard to do. I am much impressed with the entire team. Should you attend the practices, recruits #52 from Bothell, -57-From Odea, Blanchet, these two individuals looked good, both LB. Vic Wallace

It's the annual ticket party. If you want to pick up your tickets they will be at the party. If you don't pick them up, the ticket office will be sending them out later in the week. Just an excuse to get to start the football season early?? sort of!

Vic, G&P

I wouldn't mind reading your opinions on what you are seeing at practice. I don't think Jim would mind, he has been sending out some tweets and has been posting some articles in the Spokesman. G&P you seem to have some insights on the incoming freshman, any opinions you have on how they are doing would be much appreciated. I'm just tired of hearing about Vernon Adams and would much prefer to see how Jordan, Reilly, Gage and Andrew are doing at the QB position. How our QB does and the DL will determine our outcome at Oregon.

Anyone have an idea how long the ticket pick up last until? We would love to go, but my wife & I work and may not be able to get to NQ until 7:00.

Keep in mind these are just my opinions based on what I have seen at a few practices, nothing more.
QB's: All our guys seem to throw a very good deep ball, and have an amazing pool of WR talent to throw too. Overall, in my opinion our defenders have defended our larger TE types extremely well, where as our speedy WR's have had an advantage over the defenders. I think Coach Hill does a fantastic job and I have no doubt we'll have more than one QB ready come September 5th.

DL:
The only OL/DL interactions I've watched were without pads. I chose not to go today and took care of home stuff. On the first day of one on ones, I thought the Vet OL group looked better than the vet DL, and the rookies (OL/DL) were up and down on both sides. Nobody did so good (rookies) on either side of the ball to rave about. All of them beat people and all of them got beat. Vets wise only OG Neary went undefeated and was by far the best, getting 2 pancakes and another solid block keeping the pass rusher shut down.

The second day of pash rush with no pads however, the DL dominated and the rookies all got beat pretty badly. No doubt Coach Best is working on quality first steps and proper use of hands. I will mention too the last years starting Center is back as a grad assistant and he is doing a great job coaching up the OL, especially the Centers. I suspect he has a solid future ahead of him in the coaching field if he wants to pursue it. Seems like a natural.

DPEagle83,
At the meetings at NQ, Coach Baldwin normally have films of the game week prior, which everyone appreciates, he talks about the plays and the Players that made the plays. About the tickets, this is something they started last year, where we pick up our tickets at Swinging Doors, where I met tski60, Jake Rodgers mom and his dad, normally last until about 7 p.m. Very interesting. I met a gentleman from Readen who was on his farm equipment tilling his farm listening to EWU Games on radio. He attended Epic, is now a very big Eagle Backer, he even attends the other sports, Men Basketball, he wears different Caps from numerous Universities from where children. Wee look for each at the sporting events. So much for my book. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Vic Wallace

G&P,
I've been to a few practices, have been looking for you. Spoke to Codi on Monday, he said you normally sit on the bleachers, come up to the other end, you will see more people there watching the team. I told Codi, when he finds the guy that cut his hair, he should kick his butt, he cracked up and started laughing. Took a trip yesterday after the trip to NQ for ticket pick-up, I saw a bunch of Coaches, and Players in the area, which was about 7 p.m. Will be out today for the practice. I normally sit in my truck in a shady area, these old knees are kind of weak, don't stand very long ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;). We have some minor injuries already, names will withheld. We surely have some "SPEED" on our team, both on Offense and Defense. Jonah Jordan, Samson Ebukam, Marcus Saugen are doing a hell of a job "Bull Rushing the Q/Backs. Jakob Stoll, Keenan Williams, Kaleb Leavo, are some of the Freshmen on the team, I know they are going be Outstanding Players, providing the stay injury free. Nose Tackles , Matthew Sommer, Monke Sarte, I think will be two of the Strongest in the league, they both hold their own. Line Backers, are going to be hell on the field. Jake Gall, Alex Kacmarcik, Kurt Calhoun, Kody Beckering, are all playing very hard and hitting very hard. Got to go, heading to EWU very soon. Vic Wallace

I'll definitely come over next time I stop by practice, most likely Thursday afternoon. I really enjoy watching them out there and it will be great seeing you and the other Eags fans!

Thanks for the updates Vic. Your report mirrors the thoughts I had about the D-Line and LB"s. I predict this DL will be one of the best in FCS over the coming years assuming everyone stays healthy. Looking forward to an attacking defense this year, causing disruption, TO's and WINNING games for the Eagles. Think Palouse Posse or Desert Swarm defense matched with Air Coryell or Run and Shoot offense. Coach B definitely will have a "Let 'er Rip" team this season, regardless of early season success.
