As the dawn of another Hornet football season approaches, is it time to dust off the dormant Sac Rat's All Things Hornet Football blog; http://sacstatehornets.wordpress.com/ ?? This is not a pathetic appeal for affirmation (I can get that reading all of Stewart Smalley's books, doggone it) but an honest inquiry as to whether it is worth the time and effort. Though the Bee will never live up to expectations to cover the local college footall teams, as evident by Bradley's weak and pathetic display over the weekend, I give props to the athletic department communications' team improving coverage over the last few years. The Hornet Hype is a nice new addition. I can never provide insider scoop nor will I ever have access. I am just your average Hornet fans who attends games and marvels why I continue to do so.
But I must say, at the beginning of every fall there is HOPE. In no other time do I believe our time is NOW. I am not only a citizen of Sac State, but a citizen of northern california - minus that little territory that houses that school across the causeway. Oceans levels will fall. Everyone will have health care. If we just keep our tires inflated and get regular tuneups, your Sac State Hornets will be Big Sky Champs - if not in football then something else.
Anyway, I am up for another year, if my regular three faithful hornet fans are up for reading.
