According to this article Taylor is a top 5 prospect for Stanford’s head coach role. Not surprised except I don’t feel he’s “made it known he is ready to make the leap to a Power Five job.”

“Troy Taylor, Sacramento State coach: A West Coast fixture, Taylor has made it known he is ready to make the leap to a Power Five job. His name has been attached to the Colorado search. When Bill Musgraves was fired as offensive coordinator at Cal, Taylor's name immediately popped up at his alma mater. In two seasons with Taylor as Utah offensive coordinator (2017-18), the Utes went 16-11 and advanced to the Pac-12 Championship Game in 2018. In his one year as offensive coordinator at Eastern Washington (2016), Taylor oversaw Cooper Kupp, who caught 114 passes, 19 of them for touchdowns. The Hornets are currently 11-0 and headed to the FCS playoffs. All 28 years of his high school and college career have been west of the Rockies, only four years outside the state of California.”

Who is this SI beat writer who has a stiffy for TT to Cal?

TT says the Sac State job is his 'dream job'.
He has a seven year rolling agreement and can essentially retire as King Hornet football.
Hell, change the mascot to the "Taylors".

Kind of a tight space, if TT keeps winning this season then he will miss the early signing period for any FBS job. If he losses he deminishes his reputation for not winning playoff games, but we might get to keep him.

Not sure he is a fit at Stanford and lets hope Cal keeps losing money, like the $17.5M they lost with the FTX bankruptcy that they have to keep Wilcox through 2027. Cal is bleeding money and Gov. Numbnuts is projecting a big tax shortfall next year, so tightened funding for the silver spoon Bears.

Patently false. (The article, not you.) Colorado has offered their open position to His Neonness, who has yet to accept or decline.

Welp, I can’t ever remember sac State being on the front page of the goddamn sF chronicle sporting green, but we were today.

“I’m really happy here,” Taylor said. “I have no intention on leaving. But that being said, you can never predict the future. I’m just going to keep following my bliss.”
