TCU Leaving MWC Opens Second Slot

I am not attracted to the WAC any longer with they being composed of [Idaho, Utah State, San Jose State, New Mexico State, Louisiana Tech, Texas-San Antonio, Texas State]. :(

I want PSU to leapfrog the WAC and nab one of the two remaining slots in the Mountain West. We have to get radically good radically fast. Utah State has already been approached but did not accept for the time being. Biggest competition are whoever gets good quickest among Idaho, Utah State, San Jose State, the Montanas and Portland State.

Stop messing around, Athletic Department. Commit to making it happen NOW before the MWC door is closed shut. Look at how Brady Hoke and Al Borges are transforming San Diego State (8-4 right now). Time to think outside the box and get creative and not resign.

Joining the MWC is a tantalizing option, but travel costs also go up, as well as the Division I fees. I like the idea, but is it viable for the near future?

It is viable if there is the political and economic will and VISION to make it so. Leadership needs to get out of its comfort zone and attach itself to a sense of urgency and the will to win. These last two remaining slots in the MWC represent a great prize.

Painful to see that we could have hired Al Borges. The coaching hire was critical in whether PSU could make a step forward. I fear we made a tactical mistake.

We still have yet to see Nigel's capacity for recruiting. Is it prowess? That could make a biiiiig difference.

If next year is a flop, I think the Admin must have given up and resigned themselves to kissing the false idol of mediocrity. They need not to be thinking of their own comfort, ease and security--that leads to a state of worthlessness, for themselves and their stewardship--but they rather need to be thinking of doing what it takes to honor PSU's commitment and alliance with OHSU and so create something brilliant for the ages.

Think of it---a slough of medical professional alumni.

When is PSU going to sell something other than garbage for athletic apparel? I would be completely and utterly embarrassed to be seen in those wretched excuses for designs. Where's the sapor?

The University of Hawaii is joining the Mountain West Conference for football and the Big West in other sports. This is exactly what I would want for Portland State.
