Weberhoops has the 2011/2012 hoops schedule on the website,

aside from dates and times is it finalized? are those all the OOC teams we will play next year? I wouldnt be surprised if our 2 non d1's were changed to road games later in the year, and Im guessing Tulsa isnt coming to the Dee?

Our OOC home schedule is by far high and above better than last season's

They are working on another D1 home game. Its already beter than this year's home schedule, by a long shot. They are also looking for a preseason trny and may be going on the road to the DC area. We have a great chance to have an outstanding year.

Yeah a preseason Tourny or two is a definite possibility. I'd love an invite to the preseason NIT.

Anybody know the chances of that other D1 home game being Tulsa are?

I think It would be cool if Weber plays in another preseason tourney, how about Hawaii?

I do know that the preseason tourney will NOT be in Alaska. I think that Weber is done going to Alaska.
Coach recently said that he really does not like going there. :D

I saw a list of teams for Alaska Shootout recently, and Murray State and New Mexico State were on it, looks like the field is set, and Weber was not listed

Just as long as we dont play in the Milk the cow classic, I dont care what tourney it is.

All I know is BYU and Cal wont end up being our only road OOC games.

I like the "milk the cow" classic, It's good money for the WSU basketball program, and its a great opportunity for me to see my Wildcats play 3 nights in a row, which doesn't suck.

100% Agreed!! I really enjoyed the Cheese Classic. It was fun watching the Cats three straight nights. The only bad thing about the MOOOOO Classic is that Weber has to play against USU, which we all know, on that floor, we wont get a fair game. Last year is a prime example of that.

Didn't Weber sign a contract to play in TWO tourny's in Alaska? I thought I heard the announcers say that part of the deal for Weber playing last year there was a stipulation that they had to make a return trip in the upcoming years. Maybe Anchorage paid off the Cats after getting their A$$es handed to them.

I did hear from the AD, a while back, that Weber was thinking about starting or trying their own holiday tourny. The AD said that if a small area like Logan can have one, why can't Weber/Ogden have one?? Makes sense...none of the other Biggies are doing tourny's and it might work out if you have a snow/skiing theme in December. He didn't say it was a done deal, just that there might be a future possibility. The biggest question mark was funding/sponsor (Petzel, Peterson, Basin, Amcor Sports, GOAL Foundation, American First, or Market Star just to name a few...there is a CPA I know who might be interested. LOOOL).

I really hope that if Weber gets a tournament of thier own started, that they are able to bring some good quality teams in.

Gossner classic is a joke, really bad competition and playing usu an extra time in Logan is dumb. If Rahe thought it was so great we'd be up there every year.

Most Aggie fans want usu to drop it because they can't bring in any quality competition, and it hurts their rpi the most of any all season.

Bad idea by our AD, we won't be able to bring in anybody either.

With Utah not willing to play in Logan and Ogden anymore, I think a Holiday tournament at ESA with byu, utah, usu, Weber, maybe even suu, and uvu would be good for college hoops in the state, I think. We would still play byu, and usu home and home series. It would probably be the only time byu and utah would face off each year.

The basketball travelers tournament in Logan is great. We had the opportunity to see 3 road games in less than 1 hour drive. What is wrong with that? I don't like the idea of playing Utah State twice in a season but 2 wins in 3 days and all road games is a good thing. There is no way Weber is considering a home tournament for one reason, $$. If we continue our home and home schedules with BYU and USU there is no need to consider a Salt Lake tournament. I have no gripe if we stop playing Utah which won't happen.

AD, for those who don't know, means Atheltic Director. This isn't heresay, I've heard Bovee say the same thing. Like Tal though, I have no idea how serious the department is. Bovee mentioned that for Weber to pull something like this off, they would have to have some serious support/funding, which is doubtful at best. But HELL people, its not like Weber is getting big named schools to visit the Dee anyway, might as well try new things in an attempt to bolster the schedule. If anything, a couple low to mid-majors would come and at least we, the fans, would be able to watch DI teams instead of independents or DIIs/NAIAs (notice its rare that a DIII comes, weird).

First off Welcome to the board Bringback1/2CourtCat.

I agree with about everything you said, but I dissagree about the last sentence, Utah stated that although they are dropping the home and home series with both USU and Weber, they would still want to continue the series with BYU, but now instead of playing twice, they just play once alternating home sites every other year.

You didn't get a fair game when we beat you in Ogden in 03/04. Or when we beat you in Ogden in 05/06. Or when we beat you in Ogden in 09/10. We've beaten you 10 of the last 11, none of them was fair to the Wildcats, except for the 1 you came out on top. Whining isn't attractive.

When you win in Ogden you do it without one sided officiating, when you win in Logan there is completely obvious one sided officiating in favor of the Aggies, and its not just us Wildcat fans saying it, BYU and Utah fans I talk to hate having to play in Logan because they know they are going to get completely homered.

Its hard to watch your team get homered, and shoot 17 freethrows compared to 30 for the other team.

With the talent coming back, I sure wish we would give up those two non D-1 home games for two road games against the power 6. It could make a difference with a tourney seed. Losses vs. RPI top 50 are better Than non D 1 wins, and there is better exposure too. Same philosophy works for footbal: we get that 2009 at large because of our non-conference schedule. Montana learned their lesson this year, and are now playing at Tennessee this fall.

I agree here, know everyone is bellyaching at not having many home games but I would rather go on the road against some top notch teams and have a close loss than to destroy university of the Southwest by 40. Gives the team a better RPI and helps the conference out also.
