Thall Shalt Not! USU students given rules

What a bunch of crap.

They were distributed verbally by event staff to the students minutes before the game started. Ejected was threatened if rules were disobeyed. The ones that I have heard through twitter, Aggie Call in, and facebook are:

1 - No leaning over the front bar.
2 - No pointing at anyone on the court.
3 - No use of the word "suck" or "stupid".
4 - No personal attacks singling out one player.

Ry Bay, the student Athletics VP called in to Aggie Call about it. I recommend downloading the podcast for anyone who missed it. Possibly the biggest GAFFE by the Utah State Athletics Department ever.

Oh wow!! I had no idea that Stan and Barns were trying to destroy the best thing about Logan. Wow...thats kinda hilarious really, yet, at the same time really sad and pathetic. Yikes!! Who is next? Weber's student section. Will they tell our students, "You can't say 'you suck' after turnovers anymore, it might hurt the feelings of the opposing team?" Seriously? Grow some skin!! Go to Montana sometime for a playoff game. Yeah, Purple Pussies and F*** You Wildcats, were their favorite cheers. Or to San Diego State where their student section, consistently used some of the foulest language I've ever heard during a basketball game.

ITS CALLED COLLEGE ATHLETICS...its been happening for decades. This isn't new. Hell, our football team was attacked by Montana States crowd in 1966. USU is a State School, not a private institution. Stan went too far. The Spectrum is a public building, much like the Dee, since it is owned by the state and we are citizens of said state how can they infringe upon free speech? He can't kick someone out for pointing? I can understand foul language, but pointing at the court? huh? Wow...USU students should create a law suit. To me this is a sad day, it gave the administration too much power. Other administrations might use the same rules in the future at other local institutions.

i looked up the usu school pres's bio. he is a byu alum and worked at byu for 20 years. that must have been why he felt the need to drive down to provo to beg forgivenss to byu's pres samuels and the ad homoe. :roll:

On thier board, they are blaming the students lack of enthusiasm on the athletic department, maybe it was really because they were getting thier aggs handed to them last night. :rofl:

Too bad the hammer got dropped on them like that. Pretty sure this was all from how they acted during the YBU game. I'm no fan of YBU, but they went overboard for that game and are now paying the price.
