The best part about this win over EWU is that we still didn't play our best game. It can, and it will get better.
Couple of comments...
Great job by the defense being ready for the EWU no huddle offense. Even on plays where they weren't sure if EWU would go for it (early in the first), the defense rushed into punt return formation and avoided terrible field position.
That snap over Urrego's head was pretty bad. He's gotta kick that ball thru the endzone soccer style for the safety. We gave them 7 points.
We looked much, much better on 3rd down conversions, and that helped us win the time of possession battle.
623 yards in the air? Wow. Scary, considering that Hubel overthrew about five open guys. He hits those, and we're pushing 700 yards for the game.
That Sac State loss still stings, but we're back in the mix of things.
