ISU is desperately missing the big play this season. For example, the longest pass play has gone for 34 yards despite having an amazing 92 completions. The longest run is 20 yards, the longest punt return is just 4 yards and the longest kick return is 36 yards.
However, it’s not just the offense that is missing the big play; the defense isn’t getting the big play either. ISU has 0 interceptions on the year, 0 sacks and just one fumble recovery.
If ISU is going to move up the Big Sky standings receivers need to start breaking some of these bubble screens for big yardage and the defense needs to get more pressure on the QB, especially as ISU begins play against some of the better passing teams in the Big Sky.
