I have little faith in our team. After watching that Ass Kicking in Missoula I realized how badly the coaching staff needs to be shaken up. Mac, of course, is great, but he needs to get rid of the parts of the staff that are really damaging the teams progress. Having two D coordinators is worthless. Neither one of the two are fit to run a defense. Next the offensive line has only gotten worse this year. That is in direct correlation to the OL coach. With the talent on that line, it is embarrassing how many sacks the line has given up this year.

as for the game...the defense has the ability and talent but not the coaches to stop the Bobcats. The offense without Hoke will be lost. Jordan, did an admirable job, but he isn't anywhere as prepared to run the offense as Hoke is.
I will probably get blasted for saying, or even thinking this, but the buck stops with the head coach. If his coordinators are worthless than it's his fault for hiring them or keeping them on. So it's hard to say Mac is great and then talk about how bad the coordinators and the team are. Coach Mac is a great guy and an excellent recruiter but his teams are often undisciplined on and off the field and fail to adapt or innovate (this year's team for sure). We could very well be looking at a 3 or 4 win season. That should be unacceptable to everyone, and as the head coach, Coach Mac has to take some, if not most, of the blame. I know that this year's team is very young, but if he isn't successful over the next two years then it will really start to feel like his stay at Utah all over again (improved the program, program leveled off, and wasn't able to get to the next level of excellency).
But, It isn't Mac's fault that WSU doesn't have the $$ to pay good assistants. It's hard to get good assistants with what $$ Mac has to work with.

That is where it gets really frustrating. Maybe Mac is hesitant to promote other coaches, cause he doesn't want to lose them. But this is the third season we, as fans, have been enduring the mind numbing inefficiency of Cookus and Swan. Samuelson, could get better, lets hope. I think Hammer has improved a bit. I would like to see a more dynamic offense.

I agree about the discipline issues on and off the field. :ohno:

:flag: What part of towel-throwing do you guys not understand..... remember 45-10. Is it basketball season yet? Montana State 42 Weber 24. 42-7 if Hoke doesn't play. :wall:

We have 3 games left, just because we can't make the playoffs doesn't mean the team should quit. A winning record will help with recruiting, the team is young so they need to figure out how to win with their backs up against the wall. Saturday might be a cold, miserable weather day but I sure liked the last time we played a cold, rainy, miserable day cause I watched our Cats stomp all over the Griz. I will be there, I hope the WSU team that smacked down the hornets shows up too.

Season's already over. They have nothing left to play for except pride. But I fear pride won't be enough.
MSU 35, WSU 17

A few minor notes on the Wildcats' embarrassing loss on Saturday...
Barrinton Collins tied WSU's single-game record for kickoff returns in a game (3-way tie at eight).
Caldwell Taylor is now tied for the single-season record for blocked kicks (3-way tie at three) and more importantly, he is now WSU's career leader in blocked kicks (5).
Nick Webb is now tied with Scott Shields for 5th on WSU's career unassisted tackles list (145). He needs 20 more to jump into second place all time.

According to the WSU press release, Hoke will be starting.

That is great news. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard Hoke has a smiliar injury to what Bamforth suffered last season. An injury that can't get any worse, but is still extremely painful. Will he have to have surgery after the season? Well, with Hoke running the show, I have a feeling the Cats will be more efficient on offense.

Not to rip on Jordan, he did a decent job last week. Having your first collegiat start, not to mention, the first time he has had a lot of playing time, happen in Missoula Montana isn't the easiest situation. I liked his confidence early. The final score should have been closer. Two picks, one in the endzone, and then failing to convert on a couple fourth downs really made the score more lopsided than it should have been. Gotta hand it to the Grizz. The played a great game. Weber has got to get their physical nature back.

I have absolutely no doubt that Weber State brings their "A" game against MSU. My Bobcats better be ready for a cat-fight. You guys always play us tough, especially in Ogden. One thing that should motivate MSU this weekend is that with a win over Weber, we are guaranteed at least a share of the conference title. Sounds like the weather will be bad, and we all know that the ball bounces weird in bad weather games. I am confident that MSU can get the job done, but it will be a hard-fought game.

Good point. The good assistants he has had in the past quickly jump ship for more money.

anyone remember Coach Eck? i saw him on the sidelines at the Montana game, and I've heard he has been at practice the last two days :) hmmmmmmmmmmm

I have always been a diehard WEEEEBCAT. I will die a WEEEEEBCAT. I do have a romantic sensative side(stop laughing Catcat) I predict a storybook ending/ made for TV movie on this one. WSU 24 MSU21 with a last minute field :thumb:  :bananahump: :woo: goal.

I would like to see Weber win -- esp if I'm going to have to sit in the rain/snow and cold for three hours. However I don't see it happening.

MSU 35 WSU 20
