the home stretch (predictions)

Standings with a month to go are below. It looks as if it's going to be a battle of attrition the rest of the way with multiple teams stepping up lately and playing hard to get back in the mix. If the Jacks hold serve on their home court and can pull off at least one road win on the Montana trip (hopefully two...I'll be in Missoula for the Saturday game...woo hoo), I like their chances of finishing first or second in the conference. With games left against PSU, WSU, ISU and the always tough MT road trip, it will be anything but easy for the Jacks. Winning the conference and hosting the BSC tourney hasn't proven to be much of a benefit for teams over the years it seems although it'd be nice for the Flagstaff folks to host the tourney.

The ISU loss was understandable. A repeat of the UNC loss cannot be repeated the rest of the way. Resting up after a nasty roadtrip, remembering how to hold the second half lead and reacquiring a "killer instinct" would be a great start.

Prediction:
I'm the eternal optomist. NAU wins the conference with Weber State and Portland duking it out for second. Idaho State as my darkhorse and greatest fear come BSC tourney time.

How about PSU/NAU/WSU all finishing 11-5 to tie? Who would host?

With a tie then it's the record between the schools. so last yr wsu 11-5, nau 11-5, since wsu went 2-0 vs the 'jacks then weber hosted.

with a 3 way tie and say nau, psu, and wsu all split with each other which i dont think will happen then its somehting like our records against the other teams compared.

as we get closer the big sky site will have an article explaining all the possible ties and tiebreakers and how it works.

i really dont htink the best team will get 12 wins, this year is too much like last yr.
