The logistics of team travel

Looking forward to the game on Root this Saturday. I was just curious about how the team travels when it flies commercial, like I thought I heard it was doing today. Things like how many of the kids make the trip, if they travel with gear or if it gets trucked down, etc. Thanks.

I know the gear gets driven to away games. For this trip, I assume they are flying into PHX and taking a bus up to Flagstaff.

It would cost significantly less to drive it over with a trailer than to have it go by air, so I'm sure that is what the program does. The gear probably leaves much sooner than the players, so it is there by the time they arrive.

Sounds like there were some issues with the team's flight

#ewu #ewufb #bigskyfb The Eagles have finally landed in Phoenix, 4
hours late because of plane problems in Spokane.

#ewu #ewufb #bigskyfb That means no walkthrough at NAU tonight. We'll see how that translates in tomorrow's game.

The team's flight was cancelled this Friday morning out of Spokane to PHX on US Air at 8:45AM. Probably due to mechanical issues. Since you can't shove off an entire team and staff of 70 on another flight, it looks as though US Air ferried a flight in and flew the team down to PHX. It left at 1230pm and landed at 310pm. They bussed to Flagstaff, but skipped the walk through, just doing team meetings and dinner this evening. They are fine!!

NO, you were told wrong! Freshman that are playing and in the rotation travel. But Redshirt freshman and many others don't travel. EWU travels about 50 of the 90 players.

If memory serves me correctly, they fly into Las Vegas and bus over.

We flew into Vegas when we played Southern Utah in 2009. We always flew into Phoenix for NAU, but that may have changed.

it sounds like they took some practice time on the red when they found out the flight was cancelled I doubt it effects the game at all.
