Doesn’t it kind of seem like Gage Gubrud said “Screw EWU, I’m going pro.” ?

???

I asked because it seems like EWU getting a seed comes down to the UC Davis game (and potentially Weber St. losing in conference play as well). It was reported as a toe injury, but it has also been stated that Gage is not returning & “focusing on his pro career.” The UC Davis game is roughly 6 weeks after the toe injury & it’s not wrong to think, “he hasn’t healed by now?” Also, the injury is sometimes quoted as a “lower leg” injury. Which is it!? I’m not the only EAG fan with these questions, and when I hear “focusing on pro career”, which is something I’ve NEVER heard from an Eagle, especially one that’s 16 YARDS away from a huge record, it sounds odd. Still think I’m off base?

Yes.

Your name should be “formerEWUstudent”, not formereag.

That crown must be a little too tight, it is cutting off circulation.

For any who've yet to notice that the topic of this thread is "THE OFFICIAL # 8 APPRECIATION THREAD", an opportunity to express positive comments for the excellence that EWU Football Champion Gage Gubrud has contributed to the team, coaches, students, and fans the past few years and future. I respect the fact he is disappointed, still in pain since the injury, and will be until sometime after his surgery.

Those who have negatively expressed their petty, unsubstantiated, speculations here that Gage's motives are selfish, should do their bitching elsewhere.

Being an old, average QB I sure appreciate having the opportunity to watch a talent like Gage Gubrud and I hope he heals fast so he can impress some NFL scouts.

Unsubstantiated? No. Everything I’ve stated about the extremely talented Gage Gubrud comes from reading conflicting articles about the injury & potential/future surgery. That said, your point is well taken. Gage has led the Eags to two great seasons, including a 12-2 season in 2016, & an incredible victory over WSU in 2017! I wish him a speedy recovery & the absolute best in pros. GoEags!!
