My guess is that he's saying the MAC is better than FCS Independency.Better than what?

OldRunner, Jamie Martin ain't walking through that door any time soon, bruh!Nothing from nothing leaves...?
Why do you think your coach got out of town so quickly?
For a bigger bag of money and to be heir apparent at a B12 program if he gets the offense going. Is it not that obvious?Nothing from nothing leaves...?

There is hot air being blown around that NDSU, FUCD and Tarleton are being considered for MWC inclusion.Dr. Wood in KCRA interview which has been posted several times since yesterday:
"We are still confident we will be FBS next year, and I know something that people don't. The wait is because we have an even better FBS opportunity"
Do we?
I don’t subscribe but appreciate you sharing a summary of the news. Not sure if anyone has access to these articles, but John Canzano believes the Pac-12 will add multiple new teams to the conference for football effective 7/1/27.

I wouldn't take what Luke Wood says too seriously.. Guy said he was 100% African American in a Twitter post which is a verifiable lie as his dad is clearly white (nobody knows who his mother is still?, even though he was born in jail? How does that work?)
Why does the guy lie so much? Not sure.
I thought he was into "black lives, and black minds and racelighting.." But now the team is wearing Native American uniforms because they gave some money? Ookay.
Says he was expelled 42 times by the same teacher? Can anyone verify this is true? 42 times.. really?
Then he said you guys were going to build a huge new stadium where Hornet stadium is now showing those drawings.. It would probably cost at least 400 million dollars.. that never happened.. there was no plan and you wasted good money on those drawings that looked like cartoons.
Then he said they were going to build at Cal Expo.. Nothing came of that.
Then they were talking about Rancho Cordova development run by his brother and Kozpur (who has no stadium building experience) that turned out to be a back-door project that would have had Sac Basketball move there (as shown in some renderings released).. KozPur always seems involved in all of Luke's pipe dreams.
Now you believe him that you are going to have an FBS schedule in 2026? Reality check here's your schedule so far:
That's 5 FCS teams and 1 FBS team.. No FBS team plays a schedule with 5 FCS teams on it, no matter what happens to the rest of the schedule, so what are you guys even believing him for?
- 09/12 - at Fresno State
- 09/19 - Youngstown State
- 09/26 - at UTRGV
- 11/07 - at Maine
- 11/14 - Tarleton State
- 11/21 - Southern Utah

Who is the "you" here? I haven't seen anyone say they believe the things he said in that news report.
I certainly don't take anything he ever says seriously wrt the future of the university's sports programs and facilities.
It's always misleading, pipedream nonsense. I say that based upon history and the hope that one day I'll be proven wrong. But that day never seems to actually come.
I don't believe anything drastic is changing with the Hornets 2026 schedule (being added to an FBS conference), however, if a miracle did indeed happen and they were added to an FBS conference schedule in the coming weeks -- you are right in that the 5 FCS games wouldn't represent a true FBS schedule.
I notice at the end of the news report we got the same "there is another big announcement on the way" regarding football that he doesn't want to give away too many details about.
It's just more of the same vague, leading statements that rarely, if ever, actually materialize. Big news was supposed to be announced in November, too. And how many other times over the past couple years??
| Scenario | Rough Estimated Odds |
|---|---|
| Sac State joining MAC football by 7/1/2026 | Very Low (~0–5%) |
| Sac State becomes FCS independent in 2026 | Very High (~70–90%) (MontanaSports.com (MTSPX)) |
| Sac State finds another FBS conference (e.g., C-USA) | Low (~10–20%) |
| Sac State appeals/gets special waiver later | Very Low (<5%) |
| Scenario | Estimated Odds (for 7/1/27) | Reasoning / Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sacramento State joins MAC football by July 1, 2027 | Very Low (~5–15%) | No public indication that the MAC has extended an invite; Sac State currently lacks a clear FBS path as of reported news. Conferences rarely take FCS teams without clear strategic benefit, and the MAC has not been linked with Sac State. |
| Sacramento State remains FCS Independent (or joins FCS conference) through 2027 | High (~60–80%) | NCAA denied their waiver for 2026, and they’ll likely play as an FCS independent in 2026 at least; without a conference invite, that status could persist into 2027. (ESPN.com) |
| Sacramento State transitions to FBS in some fashion (conference or independent) | Low–Moderate (~15–30%) | Sac State wants to move up and is working toward FBS membership, but needs a bona-fide invite from a conference; possible landing spots include other Group of Five leagues (e.g., CUSA or potentially Mountain West) — but no official offers have been reported. (Nevada Sports Net) |
Not disputing any of that. But after months of silence, the fact that he's repeating the FBS claim in what is so obviously crunch time piques my interest.
