The PAC/MWC Dominoes Begin to Fall

I’m out of the are right now, but I’ll see what I can find out. These agenda items move dates, get pulled, etc. all the time. I am still not worried.

I was told there would be specific Hornet Stadium Phase 1 improvement allocations in the pipeline. 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Still not worried. The train is not stopping.
Yeah I would think that if this was getting financed that it would need Board approval. FWIW, the master plan was recently updated in 2019 and has a Hornet Stadium Project (actually 2 of them) listed. The press box was completed recently.

The fact that a stadium amenities survey just went out this week tells me we are still moving forward.

Dr. Wood seems to give exact date (April 7?) for announcement on conference affiliation/FBS.

With new Football and Basketball splashes made, Monday April 7th is prime announcement day with March Madness Final and final house settlement objection ruling released.

Yeah. Social media "reporters" were leaked some info recently, because many are indicating some news is coming this week. These folks are ones that discuss mostly West Coast schools/conferences.
Yeah, these guys are mildly entertaining, but not some gold standard for news. But, the Woods have engaged with them a couple times, their following has grown, and their eyeballs seem to align with the announcement timeline of April 7th-ish.

Yes… I had exchanged w several loyal PAC12 followers that reiterated that same news.

I’ve searched Memphis / Tulane / USF online and I havent seen any press conferences scheduled for them announcing anything today.

Maybe something without a press conference might get done today?

Looks to me that once the ACC became vulnerable to conference realignment with Clemson / Florida St etc that Memphis / USF / Tulane have eyes on the ACC and not the PAC12.

However, without knowing the ACC exit fee’s / grant of rights for Cal / FURD / SMU they might be exhausted w East Coast Travel..If they returned to PAC12 that would be momentous for PAC12 revitalization and the conference revenue amount in a new TV deal should reflect a solid increase.

SAC ST is still in a great place in my opinion. Even when / if PAC12 calls wanting to solidify Top 20 TV Mkt they will “Low Ball” offer as they did w everybody else.

Admin needs time to let that potential offer simmer to explore better options than a “low ball offer” we can expect from PAC12.

Good gawd, let’s hope preliminary discussions have been taking place since Sept. 2024 to eliminate having to start from 0 if this shakes out. I can’t wait until 2043 to formalize this and get in front of the BOT with blueprints and a plan.
