Name the player:
Walk-on, 4-year starter & 3-time Big Sky All-Conference recipient = #44 Quinn Zamora
I just saw where Zamora received 3rd team Big Sky All-Conference honors. When I decided to see who received 1st and 2nd team honors, I found out that they are really running backs whose offense calls them fullbacks. 1st team FB Joe Protheroe of Cal Poly had 1,217 yards rushing, and 2nd team FB Chad Newell of Montana State had 719 yards rushing. Like a true FB, Zamora's MO reads: plays on all special teams and is violent at the point of attack. Using that philosophy, UNC should have labeled Miller a (flexed) TE, and that way he would have received 1st team honors because he would have had more yards than all other TEs. Shame on the Cal Poly and Montana State coaches for calling them fullbacks.
Also Congratulations to:
1st team - Deggs
2nd team - Newsome and Dubose
3rd team - Miller, Zamora, Johnson and Singleton
Honorable Mention - Piechowski, Hendrickson, Sloter, Fallon, and Overton.
