The truth about the first four games

This is one of the better articles I have read about the NCAA basketball tournament. They try to make it appear that these schools have made it to the big dance, the reality is a different story. All I can say is that I am glad we did not play in one of these games.

I have been around UAlbany and I am glad to see they won yesterday. I do agree, the conference champions should get the AUTOMATIC bid to the dance, the only teams that should be in the play-in games are the at-large bids. They are the ones that should have to work extra hard to get in. I say heck with the at-large bids, the only schools that should be in are the regular season champs and tournament champs, screw the big schools that pad their stats.

Nice find 02!! Excellent article on the play-in games. I like how the NCAA did, somewhat, change the format forcing at large teams (two 12 seeds and two 11 seeds) to play each other to get into the main tournament. But I still don't like the 16 seeds play-in. These are small schools, with small budgets and substantially less opportunities to achieve what the other play in (at large 12 and 11 seeds) programs have. They won their conference's automatic bid, and they should have the automatic right to participate in tournament.
