The Washington Huskies Are #25 In The Initial AP Football Po

I stopped reading after a couple of topics ... Totally incomprehensible crap coming from fans who I'm sincerely hoping aren't UW alumni because if they are grads it doesn't say much for the vaunted academic standards of the institution. Little football conversation - mostly character assassination. Waste of time.

Not sure what you are talking about, most of the topics are about football.

Just a FYI, we beat the Beavs 69-27 in their own stadium last year.

With key offensive players that are... where?

Obligatory hype video post:

Yes, we lost Keith Price, Bishop Sankey, and ASJ, but most of the people in that video are back. Pay close attention to Dwayne Washington #12, he is the starting running back this year and will be running behind an offensive line that returns all starters (5th most experienced line in college football this year). The weakness of the defense is the secondary as only one starter returns, but the front seven is stacked.

If you are interested, the depth chart for Week 1 got released today: http://blogs.seattletimes.com/husky...-budda-baker-tops-huskies-week-1-depth-chart/

I doubt Eastern put too many goosebumps on UW based on last weekends performance. That said, Sam Houston State is probably better than Hawaii--- at least based on last year. Eastern has got to shore up the defense to play with the Dawgs... they are very solid up front on both sides of the ball and have to feel they can pound away on Eastern and control the tempo.

True statement. Based on our first game of the season, they'll have a lot of success running the ball. I think we are going to miss those two 320 pounders we had last season playing on the inside the past two years more than some think.

I don't know a lot about their new QB, but I'm assuming he's mobile. If he is even slightly more accurate on the run than the SHSU QB, it's going to be really problematic for us. That said, we'll score some points, so who knows. I think our chances are much better in a shootout type game ALA OSU last season, but with UW's running game, I don't see much of a chance it's going to go that way. We'll play to win and I'm not into moral victories, but if we can keep it within 2-3 TD's and get out of there without any major injuries I'll be ok with that.

It's highschool highlights, but at least you can get a feel for him (Lindquist):

Is Miles not the starter? I thought I had read somewhere he would be starting.

He is suspended for the first game. A lot of people predict he will win the job at some point this year (possibly even after the Hawaii game if Lindquist struggles). Coach Pete said the QB position will be reevaluated after the Hawaii game.

I heard from a couple of sources (one from someone in the know and another from XM 91) that Miles has been seriously underwhelming this Summer. The coaches, or so it goes, are not happy with his progression. No idea how true that is, but it seems to be a rumour I've heard from more than one mouth.

From the depth chart for U of W : Right guard James Atoe, sr., 6-7, 381... I feel for our D lineman who lines up across from him!!

Are you sure? His bio seems to suggest he is a career backup.

Atoe is #70 in this bowl game clip from last season

So Lindquist is going into his sophomore year with no game experience at all or just no available tape/highlights on him?

I believe he has played some limited reps in live games, but nothing that would constitute significant playing time. I guess the Hawaii game will give us a better indication.

huskies have their hands full with the rainbows. Husky QB kind of rough passing night. Also, seems when the rainbow QB rolls out he is able to take advantage of the husky secondary.
