I was at Classic Water Park today in Riverdale. It was my first time ever there. Interesting place. ha ha. Anyway, I was sitting there eating a slice of pizza and in walks Kellen McCoy. He was with is family. I pretty much got up, walked over and gave him a bear hug. We talked for a few minutes about the team. Kellen is about the nicest dude I have ever met. I bet the players really like him as a coach and can really relate to him. I hope he stays with us for a long time, but Im sure he will have lots of bigger opportunities someday. We started talking about team and boy he is ecstatic about the players and was so happy he could come back to Weber State. He said the talent level now to what it was when he was on the team is so much better, and we had some good players when he played. He said Tres is an absolute beast and looks even better than he did last year. He said Joel and Gelean have really stepped up. He was raving about our 2 new freshman Gittens and Senglin. I asked if both will play this year and he said one might redshirt. I asked him how we compared to the Oklahoma Sooner team he just left and he said it was close, but Weber has better depth. Oklahoma was good last year too. He said we would beat lots of high major teams. I know all coaches think their team is the bomb, but I could tell he was very excited about our team. Hell, we can tell as fans that Weber hoops is legit. Its nice when an assistant coach is beaming. He said Zach Braxton was a big get for us and that Marquette and Northwestern were about to offer him when he committed to us. I wanted to so bad to talk to him more, but his little girl wanted to jump in the water and I didn't want to bug him anymore. ha ha. Anyway it made my day. Really nice guy to talk to. Is it November yet?

Randy told me the same thing about Kellen's first seeing our guys play. He said; 'Wow coach, we never had players like this when I was here.' When Randy first got here, he hit the JCs heavy in the first few years. He really had to. Since then its been 90% freshmen. You need to get talented freshmen in order to have continuity in your program. The real key is getting to the point where you can get into the more talented freshmen, like we are doing now. I've been a Wildcat fan since 1969 and I can tell you that this is the best it has ever been, in terms of getting high quality freshmen. Randy and our crew of coaches are doing an outstanding job of building an outstanding program. They are doing it the right way, with high character, talented freshmen. :thumb: :thumb:

I was hoping Kellen would be making enough cash that he could go to 7 peaks or Raging waters instaed of classic waterslides.

Uh...I'm shocked to hear that Classic Waterslides still exists.

But agreed Wazzu. I got to watch a couple of ratball games this past June and the team is pretty impressive.

I watched a couple of rat ball games also. I would say that Kellen's evaluation of our guys is spot on. I think that there will be a lot of folks who are shocked by the improvements that two or three of these guys will have made over the summer. If we don't land three players on the 1st team all BSC, it will be a travesty. I know how hard that is to do, but these guys will deserve it, barring any injuries. Heck, the competition to make it as a starter will be greater than a lot of what we will see in the BSC. Our second five would contend for the title. :coffee:

If Rahe ends up with an 8 man rotation (as he usually does) who will the 3 be off the bench? Will Fulton be getting big minutes in his SR year? With Bolomboy able to play both the 4 and the 5, how many minutes will Hajek get? Will Fuller and Hill be battling for a prime spot off the bench?
Many years it has been all too clear who the top 7 or 8 are. Nice to know that we can probably go 10 or 11 deep.
