Nice to have a punter with his background. Something tells me that he can probably tackle about as good as anyone on the punt coverage team.

He's a great kick, knows the game, knows the position.

He will be a great asset for the Vikings.

I think Tommy showed he will be a big asset for the Vikings with his game on Saturday.

Come on, 4 of 5 placed inside the 20 on his debut, and great hang time, for only a 3 yard return all day.

I notice that OSU set up for returns, but did not have a chance to return due to the height and positioning of Tommy's punts.

Considering that was his first game, and playing against a top 20 team, he did really well.

He has set the bar high for himself, but more to come from this young man.

Or maybe I am biased!

I'd have to agree. Five punts, one of them taken as a fair catch, 4 of them run back for a total of three yards, all of them inside the twenty. No wonder the OSU crowd is complaining about their special teams. That our special teams were right on top of the catcher is a plus for them; that they were able to be is due to Duyndam's hang-time kicking. I'm sure the coaches are glad to be able to relax on that aspect of our game. We're very lucky to have Duyndam. Now, if we can get our special teams to focus on kick off returns......

The stumptown sports blog was reporting an average hang time of six seconds during camp. As amazing as that sounded, that seems to be spot on. I'll take a few less yards on punts to get the hang time.

I generally agree with all of you on the ethusiasm with Duyndam's performance. My only criticism about his punting is how long it takes him to get his punt off. Oregon State wasn't going hard to block the punt and from my vantage point Duyndam was slow getting the punt off. Hope I'm wrong, and if not, it can be corrected quickly.

That's his first game against a real class opponent. Cut the guy a little slack.

I expect the nerves to be conquered and better performances ahead fromTommy.

His get off time is normally within 1.3, so no worries in that area for the long run.

Did you see how wel he took that high snap for his last punt - which ended up with 4.85 hangtime on the 13.

This young man look great against Southern Oregon, thank goodness he is Freshman and we have him for three more years!

Tommy's 2 punts each had a hangtime of over 5 seconds today, combined with a 56 yard average.

The 65 yard kick was unlucky it bounced through the endzone.

Let's get it right - it was in the air for 5.03 seconds and travelled 58 yards past the line of scrimmage before it hit the ground. That means the ball travelled 73 yards in the air.Now that's BIGTIME.

Great start for a freshman punter in any division.

I found it interesting that Tom's teammates were trying their best to make the USO punter's stats look good!

I really hope Tommy punts like this against Montana.

Hey, Johnny, any idea how Thomas is doing, gettig used to Portland? South Australia's a bit like Oregon, though maybe not as green. Culture's not terrribly different. What classes are he going to take?

Tommy's having a great time -I think it is showing in his performances.

Portland is a great city -the West Coast in general is a great fit for Australians.

He's got along way to go but he is in great hands with the staff at Portland.

Montana is a big test for everyone next week. A crazy atmosphere.

Would be nice to see that at PGE park.

Communications and Media for Tom.

Now let's see a great week of practice. They can start by catching Tommy's punts.

Duyndam's ankle didn't look so good when he had it elevated on the bench in the 4th quarter. Really swollen. :-(
