Heard last night that Cecil Thomas has taken a job to be the HC at Granger High School. He has left the team. Two weeks till the start of Fall Camp.

Wonder what happened to Gerke. He was the HC at Granger last season and did a pretty good job. No loyalty in coaching, that's for sure. From what I've heard Thomas won't be a huge loss. Didn't seem like the guy was very well liked, and the O Line was a disappointment last year. Just wish it wasn't so late in the year. :twocents:
 
Uh, Thomas is a terrible coach. I've heard that a couple lineman want Eck, but that isn't going to happen. No way he comes up here after having the coaching job taken away from him.

What do you mean about Eck? What job? The head coaching position? I agree though, I don't think Cecil was the best position coach. Our line only got worse under him.
 
My son is a current player and we are very disappointed about Thomas leaving. Not sure who is happy maybe the lazy kids on the team? He was retained after Mac because he was a great coach. Another loss for Weber. With the fans and support like yourselves who wouldnt leave. Good luck coach Thomas!

Mac... Part Deux? Why not, mend the fences, he knows the players and he was the O-line coach for the Blaze this year.

Talked to a couple of players last night. Yes there is a replacement coach, he was a coach at Washington State and is now on his way to Ogden. Also, Dave Hale is a graduate assistant who will mostly be helping out with the RBs, but due to his experience will get some time helping the lineman.
