Thompson out at Sac St

After two seasons, only this season was terrible, he is out and has joined the staff at Stanford. Right after signing day! They only signed 10. Not sure if they will keep these kids, but I know there have been several on this years roster that are hitting the portal.

I could just see Baldwin going to Sac State, getting it back on track and we're stuck with Best.

As a Cal Poly fan.. not sure Baldwin knows how to "bring things back on track".. sure it was Covid times, but he cut and run pretty fast.. Didn't want his record tarnished I guess.

Sac State hired some guy with 2 years high school head coaching experience, where one of those two years he had a losing season.

He has zero years head coaching experience at any college level.

Seems like a good hire for them. Has anybody read their President's Twitter feed by chance? It's very interesting to say the least, might explain the hire a bit more..

As much as I'd like Baldwin back that's my one concern - EWU was already a program on the right trajectory when he took over and CWU has traditionally been a solid DII program.

But despite that I'd still take a chance on Baldwin. We couldn't do worse right now...

Well your school has a lot more rigorous academic standards that good ol' EWU. I'm guessing most of the star players Baldwin recruited at EWU would have not been allowed at Cal Poly. They major in stuff like Recreation Management and Communications. I'm guessing Cal Poly focuses on academics while EWU has had its football program front and center.

He made a lot of good hires, I don't see why he couldn't do the same. Although he may need to work a lot harder to get things back on track like micromanaging till he can get people in that can coach and recruit properly.
