Go ‘Cats!

Well...good to hear that there hopefully will be more butts in the seats. Bad to hear that season ticket holders have another reason why they shouldn't renew their tickets next season. At this point, especially how much this team has under-achieved, it is nice knowing that there are options on the table trying to get more fans to the games. I really would love to see another game where the student section is full, but... We can all hope right?

News flash, everyone runs promotions to get more butts in the stands, the Jazz just did a promotion with a pizza company, call in an order and you got 2 free tickets to a game. Stop by any 1280 the zone broadcast and get freebies to everything. I hope there are some season ticket holders that don't renew, I'll have to look into upgrading my seats a few rows lower :-D and maybe have some room to stretch out.

As a season ticket holder I would be more upset that they weren't trying to get new fans involved. Someone else getting a upper bowl nose bleed seat for free shouldn't be a slap in the face to any season ticket holder IMO.

Although I don't disagree with your points, I believe it would be in Weber's best interest to include some focus on strengthening the support of season ticket holders, long-time supporters, and getting new devoted fans consistently in seats. Giving away tickets often doesn't seem like an effective way to do these things. Having a corporate sponsor give the university money to make free tickets available does not invest a customer in the product, especially when it's a common occurrence.

Why not come up with fresh promotions that encourage a customer's continued investment? Why not have an America First subsidize $1 tickets in good seats and attempt to convert those customers into fans who want to return by offering a quality product (i.e. entertainment)? Why not target ALL local school kids with extremely affordable tix for students, some of whom may need or want to bring an adult with them? I can't see a reason to not attempt to hook local youth on Weber State athletics. Why not take an active interest in helping season ticket holders find better seats when they become available-- believe me, my attempts at this have fallen on highly uncaring employees. I could go on, but I wont.

I won't say that they are doing everything that can be done to get butts in seats. However, I will say that they are doing more now than they have for a long time. Even with the struggles that the team has had, we have had good crowds. Sure, we all want sell out crowds for every game. Realistically, if we can show progress, and we are, then I feel like we are getting the job done.

Let's get a good crowd there for Saturday night and take it from there. :thumb: :thumb:

I would like to see a promotion where season ticket holders can get discounts on concessions or Wilcat gear. The last couple of home games they have offered 5 tickets, 5 hot dogs and 5 drinks for $50 or something to that effect. Why not give your loyal customers a break like that too? Just sayin
