Zo-Zo Sacramento, It's Carter-Time.

Meh. Dr. Wood and Orr need to answer those questions, but not at the Coach Carter presser. That day and presser was about Coach Carter and his accomplishment, goals and vision. Not surprised that went over the head of the carpetbagger Bee journalist with an axe to grind against Sac State.
Holy shit, this LeBron Hill guy is trying so hard to be Aileen Voison, and he’s not even old enough to know who she is lol. I guess if my parents named me after LeBron James in 2003 and I ended up not being able to dribble basketball and had to rage bait write I’d be bitter too. Dammit, he got my interaction. 😂

I'm no fan of LeBron Hill, but I don't think asking about FBS is necessarily an unfair question to ask here. Surely during the interview process, Carter must have asked what Wood and Orr have up their sleeve (assuming they have anything at all) for the future of the program and he must have been satisfied with their answers since he accepted the position. So asking him what he was told and what he expects isn't really all that out of bounds in my opinion.

I am no fan of Hill, but any professional journalist worth their lick would be remiss not ask the question (s) if the opportunity presented itself, even at the press conference. It seems like he's annointed himself the "watchdog." Either don't make yourself available, like Orr and Wood did, or push back with that is "off topic" for today. Pretty routine stuff.

It's a fair question and Coach Carter was asked during the presser and he rightly deferred to Orr. I don't have a problem with Dr. Wood and Orr not fielding questions during Coach Carter's presser. No matter how they would have responded, they would have taken away from Coach Carter's moment. There will be plenty of other times to press Dr. Wood and Orr on the schedule, assuming it's not announced soon.

Interesting hires, Kiesau has a strange path, and was at what amounts to an entry level position in Florida, and falling back to Sac.

Clark has worked in lower levels and working his way up. His NAU defenses got better, but regressed this year.

Ugh… call me a bad fan but I don’t want Bobby involved with play calling of any sort. Kind of feel like we’ve been there done that… And I would really like to see more clarity on the positions for McClure and Richardson? Both being slated for an O-line position with a different secondary title?

I suspect that Angus may be Assistant Head Coach only or he may double as DL Coach. He does have experience there, though obviously he IS an offensive lineman at heart.

Agree.. I think Bobby F. Has great live for our program. He was a solid QB coach but his OC Play Calling skills have already been evaluated and his CONSISTENCY to move the ball wasn’t FCS and 100% isn’t FBS caliber play calling.

If Bobby had learned the HYBRID on the sidelines while on T Taylor’s program he would be the man for sure. He unfortunately wasn’t taking notes from TT Era success. Thought instead of following 3X conference championship level play calling that he had a better system.

If they review film they should see that he’s not the guy at FBS level, Bobby thank you for your support but your skills are needed in other roles.

Based on the team website and social media posts announcing the staff I don’t see AC Patterson returning at this time, but I also didn’t see anyone listed as RB coach. I know that’s Alonzo’s specialty but I don’t necessarily want a Head Coach worried about specifically leading a position group if that’s what’s planned.

Angus will be the Assistant HC and will be coaching the OL with Richardson.

You are correct, OSH. I've since seen the coaches roster, and it bears out what you say. I just couldn't believe that they'd work it like that. While it's not specified, having seen this, my gut feeling is that either one will be designated later as OL Coach and the other Assistant OL Coach OR one will be responsible for Cs and Gs, while the other will be responsible for Ts. I suspect the latter given that the former would humiliate the one labeled Assistant OL Coach, and they both have way too much experience for that. Assistant OL Coach is best used for a kid who just graduated and wants to help out while he's going to grad school having not gotten a shot at the NFL.

The Asst O Line Coach title was K Rich’s son who would be great to also keep on staff in some capacity.
New GM should clarify these things asap and make sure his leadership team is not feeling disrespected or unappreciated.
Coach KR went from Co Head Coach with TT and over the past few seasons etc feel as though now here is not feeling some love from Hornet Football.

I’d like to keep the coach KR into the future. He needs to show he is more than a great OL coach for future growth.

As we know, Richardson and Taylor had a long-term relationship prior to both coming to Sac State which is why he was tabbed the assistant HC. The current reality is that the last two HCs see him as a position coach. Nothing wrong with that but there has definitely been an adjustment in the food chain since Troy left. Not dissimilar to Josh Brown's redesignation. If they feel "disrespected or underappreciated" they can leave. Josh Brown will have multiple choices...not sure who will hire Richardson.

K Rich needs to show he’s more than the position coach it appears that he is stereotyped at. I think he would have brought more TT PURE style of OC than previous Fresques did under Andy T.
That should have been his chance to grow and prove himself. AT should have made that change once he saw B Fresques wasn’t at a high enough level as an OC D1.
I’m thinking K Rich is a good stable coach and hoping he stays and grows as opportunities present themselves.
