TJ Heading to the NFL

Good luck TJ and thank you for everything you have done for EWU football. Would have loved to have seen you play another year but good luck in all your future endeavors. You were a great ambassador for EWU and one of the most exciting players I have seen in the Big Sky, ever. We're all proud of you and please don't ever forget where you came from!! EAGLE STRONG!

All is not lost!

Agreed. I've been saying all along this year that Mario Brown is going to have a very nice career at Eastern. He's elusive, has good speed, and follows his blocks well. He really shined in the Nova game when he had to step up. Had a rough go against UD's defense, but did have that 35 yard reception which sparked our first TD. If the rumors about Bronson coming to EWU are true, we could have a very dangerous 1-2-3 punch next year. We also will have Daniel Johnson, who was a Freshman this year. Not sure if he played much. I think we also have another couple younger guys that sat out this year. Trenton Pinson and Andre Williams - although I think those two might end up playing WR. We'll have to see.

Let's not forget Chase King, who's had a couple of injuries before he could really get started but shown potential.

Yep, I didn't know what his status was - I thought he was injured prior to this season opening. But you are right, he does seem like a good one.

This is a confusing situation for me and I'm hoping someone here knows more. I run an NFL draft site and all indications, including a press release from the school, point Jones heading to the NFL. However, he wasn't on NFL.com's official list of 56 underclassmen -- http://tinyurl.com/62e6mkq -- and I wasn't sure if there was perhaps an issue with his paperwork or some other hold-up, making him ineligible for the NFL draft but perhaps a supplemental draft candidate. I’m hesitant to remove him from my site's list of declared underclassmen, so let me know if you know anything.

Maybe because he would be a 5th year senior?
:?

Here's an article today from CBS sports saying he is the 57th under classman that has declared..

It was so fun to watch the players after the celebration, they were all so gracious. We stayed to the end, watched Taiwan and Coach Baldwin and his wonderful wife leave Reese Court together after all the fans got their chance to interact with our National Champions. Next is the parade in downtown Spokane. There is a great photo in today's Spokesman of Taiwan signing autographs but I couldn't find a link to their website. Maybe someone else will have better luck, it would be good for our out of towns fans to see.

Does anyone know how the injured foot has been progressing? Hate to see him leave but I really want him to do well at the combine so I'm hoping the foot isn't an issue by then. It's not that far off.

Great to hear he'll be there. More than anything at this point for Taiwan, that is HUGE. He'll be ready and show that he has what it takes to excel in the NFL.

Now that he has an invite to the combine does anyone know his recovery is doing? He sure did have a bad limp at the championship celebration.

Speaking of TJ...They are having an online chat with Steve Sarkisian(coach at Washington)on the Seattle Times website as I write this. Someone just asked him, "What's your early take on Eastern Washington as an opponent?. His reply was " I'm glad the running back left early. Check him out on YouTube".

I spectulate that TJ wil NOT run at the combine, but instead will wait to be timed at the Pro day which is sometime in Mar. This would give him another 3-4 weeks to recover. He will be able to do all the measuring, and interviews, but would be wise to wait on running.

Article on PSU TE link below. Item beneath it is from the article.
