TJ Lee to play in NFLPA Collegiate Bowl

Anyone know how the players are chosen for this game? Does the athletic dept submit application, or player promote himself, or invite based on conference awards or ???
 
Most games send out their invites based on certain scout's lists. The top kids seldom go (first 3 rounders), so there's always a lot of bubble-type pro guys. Many of these Gus are CFL-level candidates.
