Tough Guys

Scottie B, K-Bull, Mahoney, and Hughey!!

Wow...these guys played injured most of the year and they still were able to secure 3rd place in the Sky (if some calls had gone the other way or the ball bounced a bit differently, they would have won the regular season and hosted the conference tourny)

In the game against Eastern, last Sat, Scottie B's shoulder came out of its socket 6 times!! And he never came out of the game. If you are all wondering why he was a bit off on Tuesday, well, he wasn't anywhere close to being a 100% not even 50% and he still played.

Hughey was troubled by a high ankle sprain for the entire season. Those don't heal thoroughly unless you get off of your ankle for a few weeks. So in a sense he was playing, at his best, at 75%

Bull is just tough. Loved the foul on Colimon!! Thats the Bull for ya.

Mahoney...He hasn't been 100% since the SUU game. His calf injury has come and gone all season. It was acting up again against UM on Tuesday and really limited his mins. He is a beast for the Cats. Like I've said before, if he ever gets his offensive game going, he will be hard to stop.

This team, looking at the injuries, and knowing that three Freshman played a lot of mins this season, is proof to how they overachieved. When Lillard went down, I really thought that Weber had no chance at the Big Sky title, yet, they contended for it all season. I'm really proud of this team!!

GO CATS!! Beat St. Mary's!!

You got it right Tal. This is what I've been saying all year. Our injuries this season run much deeper than Lillard. It is simply amazing what Bamforth accomplished at less than 50%. So anybody complaining about how the season ended doesn't really understand everything this team has had to deal with. Complaints about losing at home in our own tourney are valid, but not this year. It just wasn't our year.

I totally agree with everything said so far.

I have enjoyed watching this team every bit as much as all of our championship years. Our future is so bright and these kids are so easy to love. I'll be back, and try to bring 500 of my closest friends, next year. As long as we can keep our coaching staff together, I see things getting better and better every year.

I wish we could fast forward about 6 months and be starting on the first day of practice on Monday. :kisswink:

Im excited not only for next year but for years to come. Look at some of our players we were able to snag and who wanted to play for us. Even after Lillard we have Gelaun Wheelwright at PG who is ranked an 87 on espn and he decommited from usc. Then there is Shai Fields who is a shooting guard ranked an 80. Obviously ranks and number dont mean much but from what i saw this year and with how deep our bench goes (richardson, porter etc) i think we will be a contender every year for the next little while. Im excited :D

Good season for the Cats. They came out and accomplished a lot especially after Lillard went down. They learned how to play as a team, some guys got a lot of experience and they got better every game.

As for the newcomers, it's pretty sweet knowing that Weber will add two more Bigs and 3 guards next fall. Guards pick up the offense fairly quickly, its the bigs that struggle, but I don't think these two will, since they have been a part of the team for the past year, and have been improving all season long. Great things to look forward to as a Wildcat!!

Now if we could consistently get 7 or 8 K to the games.

A good start would be winning all our home OOC games, including the likes of Tulsa, Utah State, Southern Utah and Utah.

I'd love to add UVU to that mix of home games. Also, getting a W at the Marriot Center next year would be oh soooo sweet!!
