Followed tonight's game online bigskytv.com Good hustle/effort later in the second half but too big of a deficit. NDSU are for real. They've had great teams the past two years. Knocked off some big programs on the road (Marquette and Wisconsin). Their pg, Woodside, impressed and certainly showed me why the NBA's looking in on him.

Jacks: lots of youth, missed free throws, injured starting pg, insane 3 pt shooting by NDSU early on and lack of an inside presence sums up the night. Down by 9 just three minutes into the game didn't help either. Not giving up but it's showing signs of an up and down season.

Will have to find time to listen in on Sunday's game @ U of A. All will be good with a big W in Tucson. Now back to my stash of hallucinogenics. A fan needs dreams, right?

Go Jacks!

They do have alot of work to do. They have so many new players that still need to find their role within the team. They are raw and need to get better at shooting the 3 as well as their free throws. Adra's past teams have been excellent free throw shooting teams and they've won many road games on the free throw line. They must get better in that area to be successful. Wilson needs to improve his assist average to help the offense run more smoothly. They need more contributors inside specially with Zarko injured the past fiew games. They have a big mountain to climb and i'm curious to see what kind of season this team will put together. I will be listening carefully to the game against Arizona.

Go jacks.

Prediction:

A 15 point U of A win. If it's any closer then I'll be pleasantly surprised. I figured that this may be the year NAU either pulls the upset @ McKale or makes the usual 8-30 point loss a bit closer than expected. With early injuries to Comagic and Wilson, youth in the post as well as an inability to take advantage at the free throw line, I don't think the lack of depth on U of A's part will matter in the end.

Wish I was in Tucson today.

Followed last night's game on espn gametracker. Sounds like the Jacks played tough and showed a bit of tenacity. They're gonna need it on this hellacious roadtrip across the frozen middle of the nation. From what I've read/heard, Wichita State is a fantastic collegiate basketball environment. NDSU is proving their hype is not unfounded as well. Tough round of games here. I'll be thrilled with two wins out of the four games, expect one win to occur and can see how a 0 for 4 isn't that far out of the realm of reality.

Should be up in Flagstaff Jan. 2nd and/or Jan. 4th for the home games. Hope to see a semblance of a crowd supporting the Jacks.

I also followed the Stanford game on the gametracker. I feel that the Jacks are playing a little better than at the begining of the season. To be quite honest, I don't think they are going to win any of the games on this road stretch. They are not solid enough yet to take on good teams on the road. Wichita st. is a strong team and should beat them by about 10. NDSU has already beaten the Jacks once and should again take down the young Lumberjacks.

The problem I see with the team is that they are comiting too many turn overs. I think they had 19 against Stanford. At one point in the game Wilson had more than the entire Stanford team. They need to learn to take care of the ball better. Free throughs is also a problem. These should be easy points for the team, but too often they end up not taking advantage of them. I do like the way some of the youngsers are playing. Shane Johanson is playing way beyond his years which is great to see. Josh Lepley is also steping up and contributing. Camaron Jones has good games and bad games, but he's solid and will only get better as the season ripens. Shayar Lee looks young and raw, but you can see he has game. He's going to be a jewel for the jacks his junior and seanior seasons. This is the future of the Lumberjacks and I think they will have a chance to go to the big dance... in 2 years.
