Looks like Rahe is still in the running for the USU head coach position and now Nevada. I know it was a down year, but he's still in consideration for a couple of head coaching spots.
Where the hell are you getting this supposed info or are you just throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks?

He found a note from Barnes at Utah State when he was doing coaches post game laundry last week.
Can't we find a forum administrator that actually knows how to read? It was in 2-3 newspapers last weekend! I'm really starting to doubt the value of a Weber degree with blockheads like Webergrad representing the school! He's going to have to put down his "People" magazine and broaden his horizons! What a nimrod!

Starting to wonder the same thing youngguns!
Couldn't you tell by the pants!

Thanks for all of the love you guys. To tell you the truth, I am not sure why my name is green. I woke up one morning and I was a mod. I have kicked a few spammers off. But other than that haven't done much. I am sorry if I like to poke fun sometimes. I would much rather have my name in Weber purple than Sac St green.

You have to admit Younguns that you have come on here with supposed "inside" info in the past. That is why one poster accused you of being the team laundry guy. My previous post was playing off of that joke. If you read a story that says Rahe is being considered for the Nevada job, please post the link so we can read it.

Feel free to take as many shots at me as you would like. I am dam proud of my Weber State degree and it has served me quite well.

Glad to see at least a couple of Big Sky team victories, in the CIT, both NAU (by 5) & Sac St (by 7) win. :coffee:
Now NAU travels to Sac St to play. Weird.

 Well that's one way to cut down the chances for Big Sky teams success...must not be anyone else much out west, (edit: sorry, just read the answers in another thread...I'm slow) I'm surprised they didn't assign them both to play in the east...also surprised Aggies didn't get in (or turned it down).

By the way, Georgetown is a 8.5 pt favorite tonight vs EWU...Coach Hayford pulled a dumb bulletin board pin up by guaranteeing a win in an interview.

Didn't know USU AD Barnes was the chair of the NCAA Tourney Selection Committee...maybe that helped a bit with Big Sky's seed?

Does anyone really think Randy Rahe is an attractive candidate for a new coach position anywhere in Div I right now?! Comeon !! :ohno:

Enjoy your posts webergrad02, but then I enjoy most all of them (including sacstateman & bengal visitor--even baller!) Keep on doin'.

To some posters, may I just say it would be nice for forum members like me that's not on top of everything www. etc., to please add a bit of detail to posts, like a source, or highlights of comments, stats, etc. Brief is fine. Not complaining or criticizing anyone & understand the importance of "keep it short" in using the smart phones, texting, etc. :?

I've ripped on guns all season but he is right. Not that I think Rahe would take a job that'll pay him close to 100K less.

You're right.... should include the story. sorry ripped on weber grad, but its so easy. Rahe's not going any where, but the rumblings are loud. one tough year doesn't kill his career!

I guess we deserve some of that young's, but not all of us have been critical of you. in fact I agree on a lot of issues. Don't worry...... you'll be old before you know it! it just sneaks up on you!

keep posting and sharing your news......

I wish my AOL for dial up had a feature like that. The only Google that existed in the computer lab when I went to Weber is what all the guys eyes did when a hot girl walked in the lab.

In fact I remember Lycos, Hotbot and Excite being the search engines of choice when I was in school.

Luv it...thanks all (Tal particularly). Laggers/slackers (and old) like me catch up eventually, at least on the important stuff...better late than not at all. Any bread crumbs appreciated.

You are right. I think Rahe has a chance now to prove his value by turning around a down year into getting back to the top of the Big Sky. If he does so, as several posters think, then he will be on the radar of high/mid major programs with an opportunity...if he so choses...it's not like he doesn't have a great job at Weber St. as it is.

For this year, I think LarrytheFarmer nailed it, stated it just right in his post. :twocents:

Is this "Google" deal on the interweb thingy?

If anyone didn't watch or doesn't know (hasn't "Googled" it yet  ), crowd favorite EWU put up a good fight near the end of the game, but after getting behind the BIG BOY Hoyas by 23 pts. couldn't quite catch up and fell 84-74. So for Big Sky...it's one & done for another year in the NCAA & NIT. :-(

Last time Big Sky Conference made it to the Round of 32 was in 2006 with Montana (87-79 over No. 5 Nevada)

Highest conference finish was Idaho State in 1977. Finished as the West regional runner up

Rahe is in the running for several schools? Who? Utah State isn't going to hire him.He has never shown he can win important games against other division 1 schools. The only one I can think of,would be Dayton, and close wins over bad Oral Roberts and Nevada.Look,I love Weber just like all Weber fans do.Fans always like to think the next season is going to be something special .how long can we wait though? I don't think that suddenly,The Cats are going to win the Big Sky and go back to the dance next season.Rahe isn't going anywhere , until the administration gets weary of waiting for a resurgence in the proud program. This is just my thoughts, and I hope I'm wrong.

First of all, I am hesitant to respond to someone who is obviously a bubble or two off of plumb.

Rusty; You are asking for the head of coach Randy Rahe in a thread set up to discuss how BSC teams are doing in post season tournaments. :dunce:

You paint a picture of a losing program in need of dismantling. You imply that WSU will never win another championship until this happens. You blame the administration for not firing him on the spot. :willybs:

Be a real man and march your butt into the ADs office to say all of those things in person. Grow a pair, or crawl back into the hole you came out of.

Jesus fudging christ people are acting like we didn't just win the conference last year...
Weber is going to be fine! I guess fans need to vent and propose changes to feel like they are part of the solution to respond to a very disappointing season.

I'm confident that Coach Rahe and his staff are responding behind the scenes and holding players accountable. The article in the paper I think creates a lot of the unhappiness with fans because Rahe just says the same thing over and over again like fans aren't able to handle the truth. He blew it this season! Changes are coming...

It's interesting you say Rahe and Co. are holding players accountable but then acknowledge that (Rahe) blew it this season. "Changes are coming..." What changes? We know there is a discrepancy with the number of players and scholarships but we don't know that Rahe will take a different approach with anything. We hope the incoming talent matches the needs but who's to say the coaching will be any different? I'm frustrated at the coaching level and disappointed, overall, with what Rahe has been able to accomplish. I'm not calling for his job or a dismantling of the team but I truly believe more could have been gotten out of the talent of the past 10 years. How about some coaching accountability? How about coach grow a pair and say, "this was on me and we're going to get it fixed," instead of wasting newspaper print?

As for "Tourney Time," one-and-done for the BSC again but at least it wasn't an embarrassment. EWU was on the wrong end of a few bad calls. I don't know if it would have made a difference but the tide sure swung after the calls, or no-calls as they may have been. And then there was one after tonight. Sac should have a pretty good shot at winning but it's hard to know who to root for when you don't know who the winner faces. I think NAU is a better rounded team able to better challenge balanced teams but Sac may perform better vs more athletic, up-tempo teams. It's too bad they both don't have a chance to go further in the tournament.

Good points, but I feel that Rahe will address the issues in the offseason. He didn't have the necessary replacements to do it during the season. There's no doubt, players that didn't perform will be moving on. Some expected, some surprises. New players will join the program and the tone will be set.

I think that Rahe made a crucial mistake last season by not having a strong front court and going to small ball. The JC's didn't step up and although I'm excited about the potential that Braxton brings the next 4 years, we could've use his physical stature in the paint this season. I agree that Rahe needs to either explain what went wrong this season or accept responsibility. It's disappointing that he feels Weber fans deserve neither. The program will be fine next season and moves will be made in the offseason that will improve the program, but Rahe lost a lot of credibility this season. The problem is that he doesn't care!

I love your comment about the waste of newspaper ink! I felt the same way! I don't drink, but if I did, Rahe's quotes would make a great drinking game!

This season was a bust, but with the additions to our program and the attrition at other programs, I think we're well positioned to have a great year. I'm still worried about our front court and the lack of skill. I'd like for someone to explain why Hill looks so confused. One thing I noticed in comparison to previous years is that we no longer get the easy dunk off of interior passing. In fact.... I'm concerned that we fell in love with the 3 point shot. This wasn't Weber State basketball!

Looking forward to the next 4 months, going to be interesting to watch this come together!
