Towson vs Eastern Illinois

Not impressed with EIU at all, especially coaching. 4:22 left in the game down by 17. Run the ball keep clock going and pretty much burn through the whole play clock waiting for the next play. Seriously?!

I know the field was slick but aside from West, I didn't see many good athletes. I did see some really horrible tackling on both sides. And Townson gave the EIU receivers lots of room. We'll eat that up should we be fortunate enough to win tomorrow. I have a feeling the team we play tomorrow will be better than Either of these teams.
Just win Eagles!

Nah, that eiu team was overrated and they play in a weak conference. Eiu didn't look good to me and they're better than tsu and jsu. Towson looked like the definition of one deminsional, however you can't blame them for running west like that bc eiu couldn't stop him and they we're trying to get get the hell outta there with the win. But still, Towson's qb didn't look great. They're one deminsional and EWU is better than jsu, eiu, & towson.

EWU has the inside lane to Frisco.

To All,
Came back from our Players coming out on the field for their walk through. They all seemed so positive, smiling. Spoke with Mckenzie Murphy, I think him and Zach Bruce will be filling in for Miles Weatheroy the 1st half, they will be alright. After talking with most of the team when they came on the field, I decided to go home and watch the Towson vs Eastern Ill. EIU took off scored the 1st 14 points, Towson came back tied it up, I fell asleep. Woke up and saw the final score Towson 49 EIU 39, and the snow was really falling very hard. Now we must finish the business at hand tomorrow, and advance to Semifinals, with another game on the "RED TURF" This is going to be an outstanding game. Go Eagles!!!!! Vic Wallace

Thanks for the update on the safeties Vic

I left home right before Towson tied it at 14. Kept having to run back to my phone between volleyball matches to get updates after that. I hate having to work these long 12hr shifts that finish right before the games on Saturday. But Im going to be so jacked up by the time I get done tomorrow. Go Eags, it sure would be sweet to host yet another semifinal game.

I just read this entire thread and it was awesome how it changed after the first page.

Towson's o-line is very good and so are both West AND Victor. I also felt their secondary played a great game in making some very athletic first contact stops on bubble screens and locking down the EIU passing game. Garropolo had all night with nowhere to go. Only once did they let's receiver get behind them (although the conditions obviously neutralized EIU's speed)

Agree with whoever commented on EIU's coaching. They loaded the box on West's first big run and that scared them enough to never go back to it. Then they run all over Towson on the first two drives of the second half only to abandon that with still plenty of time left. And how many bubble screens need to get shut down before you look to something else?

I thought EIU got away from what was working for them. Babers focused on his FBS job hunt I guess. EIU's D just not physical or deep enough to hold up. Stouffer's insistence that penetration was the only way to stop the run game was ludicrous and had to tune him out. I like the way EWU has opted to stop/slow down the run in general.

Not gonna start predicting next week until we take care of business today. EWU BIG!

Boy reading the Towson board is something.
All they're talking about is NDSU for some reason, barely any mention of EWU or Jax St. They also seem mildly fixated on getting to play New Hampshire. And a lot of their fans seem to think that they have a home game next weekend.

Not sure they really know what the hell is going on in the FCS playoffs.

Heavy drinkers? No brain trust. Nice distraction to read their stuff while waiting for the EWU kick-off.

Love the Bison taking shots at Towson/EIU's defenses on Towson board.

Default Re: Final 4 Victory Thread

Many NDSU fans watched the game in Fargo tonight. Have to admit, I was not impressed with either team. Defenses looked soft, definately not a MVFC defense. Offensive numbers were a reflection of poor defenses.

Didn't EWU see one of those stellar MVC defenses last week?
