It looks like we're losing some important guys to graduation. I'm sure the coaches have been actively recruiting good HS talent, but some interesting names have popped up in the transfer portal.

I was particularly hoping to get MI QB Cade McNamara, but today he signed with Iowa.

OR State QB Chance Nolan (939 yards, 7 TDs, 8 picks in 5 starts) is in the portal today.

Others today: NE WR Decoldest Crawford, VA QB Brennan Armstrong (grad transfer), RI RT Ajani Cornelius, TX A&M DE Tunmise Adeleye, Cincinnati C Jake Renfro (All-AAC 2021), IA WR Keagan Johnson, MD LBer Ahmad McCullough, KY RB Kavosiey Smoke.

Yesterday: Stanford DE Stephen Herron (5.5 sacks) and OG Jake Hornibrook, AL WR Traeshon Holden and WR Christian Leary, Tulsa QB Braylon Braxton and QB Davis Brin, OK WR Theo Wease, FL State DB Sam McCall, W. Michigan RB Sean Tyler, CO S Isaiah Lewis (2x Pac-12 Honorable Mention).

I think the Hornets are going to be fine at QB with Bennett, Hale and Carson Conklin — who is the highest rated QB the Hornets have ever recruited (assuming he officially signs in less than 3 weeks).

TT is one of the best QB coaches around. Fresques knows what he’s doing too. They’ll have these guys ready to play.

I gotta think there will be at least one transfer QB interested enough to join the room.especially if the chatter about Hale moving to RB or WR is true. Taylor and Fresques are good at reading these guys - I have faith.

I’d say we could see:

1. Bennet
2. Transfer QB
3. Hale
4. Conklin
5. HS or JC QB not on radar yet.
 
No offense to Ngata but I'd take Skattebo over any other running back. Without Skattebo, O'Hara has about half the yards that he has gained. Cameron is a complete football beast and his attitude effects his teammates too. This team is incomplete without Skattebo and he better get at least 20 touches today.

Not even a week ago I was looking over Daniyel’s usage and career numbers and wondered if the transfer portal might be a possibility. Same for middle brother Joe at Clemson (not sure if he has another year of eligibility or not).

Too bad Ariel Ngata doesn’t have another year of eligibility (or does he?) for the Hornets as I could see that factoring in to Daniyel’s decision to possibly come back home …

As much as I love Skat — you can never have enough talent nor too much of it.

Daniyel is a different type of back and could fit in perfectly with Skattebo and Fulcher.

My guess is there are more than a few P5 programs that recruited Daniyel that will still be interested in him. But maybe the Hornets can get lucky and lure him back to NorCal to play for a winner. ;)
