Is it time to either cut the conference to 8 teams or add more to make 14 with a North and south division?

EWU,UM,MSU, IDAHO, ISU, WEBER, NORTHERN CO IS THE NORTH DIVISION

PSU, SAC ST, CAL POLY, NAU, UC DAVIS, SUU add SD or Utep SOUTH DIVISION

Until the NCAA allows the FCS to have Conference championship games and playoffs, having divisions would not help this problem.

Best case scenario is if some Sky teams leave, but that is incredibly unlikely.

Sadly, Wildcat is right...

So here's my proposal - if multiple teams split the championship but didn't play each other (like EWU/ND last year), then those teams are put on the same side of the bracket. Whomever either wins the matchup in the playoffs (or goes the furthest) is crowned Big Sky champion.

What if both/all teams were to lose first round before meeting each other? Simple - nobody is crowned Big Sky champs.

I like the first part of the last paragraph, but the last part is just Dumb. Put them in a first round match up. Even if they are a high seed. You have to have a champion.

There was some momentum a while back to have a Pacific and Mountain division. I don't know how far it actually got. It's tough to have divisions in the FCS because it's a scheduling impracticality to have a conference championship game.

This problem is solved by splitting the Big Sky into 2 Conferences instead of Divisions. Both get auto-qualifiers, and no more of this not playing teams in your conference plus it makes OOC scheduling easier for everyone.
