Scrolling the list below you will note that ISU faces several backs breaking into the top 20 of FCS running backs including James Noble from Cal Poly and Alex Henderson from Northern Arizona. Runners from Eastern Washington, Weber State, and Montana, Sacramento State, and Montana State were also mentioned. Throw in Boise State's (breaking in a new QB) Ian Johnson and Idaho's (poor qb play) Deonte Jackson and ISU will desperately need to stop the run.

ISU gave up almost 180 yards per game last year, 8th in the league..... what do you think, can they improve this number given the firepower they will face this year?

The Big Sky has been slowly evolving into a more traditional offensive league (PSU notwithstanding) that emphasizes more balanced offenses. Stopping the run has definitely become a priority for the league's defensive coordinators. And it's not just stopping the good running backs, but several teams, like Weber, NAU and Sac have good, athletic QBs who can pick up big yards against you on the ground.
