Turning point in the season

Idaho State’s men have a chance to sweep Weber for the first time since the 2003-2004 season when they host the Wildcats Saturday night. The Bengals won in Ogden in the conference opener last month.

This really feels like a potential turning point for the Bengals. On the one hand they have a winning record in conference play, remain unbeaten in Holt Arena, and have a chance to make a real statement with a win against the Wildcats before heading out on a road trip against two teams they have already beaten.

On the other hand Weber is a slight favorite Saturday night, they will have the full services of Brekkot Chapman, who was just coming back from injury in the first meeting, and ISU is without forward Kyle Ingram for the season.

ISU is favored to win only two of their last 11 games by KenPom.com, which has been a pretty accurate predictor so far this season. A win over Weber Saturday night would be a huge confidence booster headed out on the road trip. It would be great to see the first 2000-plus crowd of the season in Holt Saturday night. Come join us, I think it’s going to be a fun one.

It would be nice to have 3000 or more in Holt to support the Bengals. I think your right Skippy this is a huge game and to win we’re going to need to score at lease 85 points or more. That being said we need our shooters to hit open shots and not allow Weber to double team Novak. I think we’re playing with a lot of confidence and it’s time that we have three or four players break out together and have a huge game shooting, Gary has shown that he can come off the bench and demand attention from the defense. If our guards shoot the way they’re capable of doing and Novak continues to dominate the paint. Life as A Bengal fan will be GREEEAAATTT.

I agree about Gary. I think his game has improved in a lot of ways, which is why I was surprised we didn't see him at all during the Portland State game.

With adding Gary to the line-up makes the Team that much more dangerous, guarding the three point line against ISU could be impossible if Gary/Jared /Balint and Erik shoot the way they’re capable of and Boyd and Geno driving to the basket. Playing a zone would be out of the question that leaves Novak one on one. There’s not many teams the can guard all of our shooters once their hitting shots. We have far to many weapons I see coming together very soon.
