It looks like we may have a new pipeline to Florida. Looks like we should be getting two great players! This is exciting news for the program. I like what Sears is doing here. I noticed him and several coaches at the bball game saturday with whom appeared to be players parents. This stuff is exciting!! :-D

Damn, and we had the worst student section in years! I was so excited to see a tent and hear music playing west of the bell tower on Friday. Instead of SAA leaders and members passing out flyers I saw the Ldssa recruiting. You have got to be kidding me! I don't know who is in charge but if someone wants to give me a scholarship I'll make sure the student section is full!

It was better Saturday night than it has been, but the students have been pretty weak this year.

From the St. George Spectrum:

Dixie’s Barney says he has committed to Weber State

By Staff and Wire Reports

ST. GEORGE — Blake Barney will go from Dixie blue to Weber State purple. The 3A MVP quarterback who led the Flyers to the state championship said he plans to sign a National Letter of Intent to play football at Weber State on Wednesday. Barney expects to go on an LDS Church mission shortly after graduation and enroll at Weber State in the fall of 2015.

Barney put up tremendous numbers in three years as a starter for the Flyers. In 2012 he passed 2,805 yards, rushed for 1,321 and was responsible for 46 touchdowns (27 passing, 19 rushing). His 9,157 yards of total offense ranks him sixth all-time in the state. The friendly rivalry between Barney and Desert Hills’ Ty Rutledge, ending later this month at the close of basketball season, could resume as early as 2015.

Rutledge said he will sign with Southern Utah, a member of the Big Sky Conference along with Weber State.

While searching for basketball information, I came across some rather interesting stuff coming from the Treasure Valley news in Idaho for football:

Kellen Copeland, Timberline High Idaho, signed with the Cats.
Adam Lewis, Rocky Mountain Idaho, signed with the Cats.
Jonah Williams, Rocky Mountain Idaho, signed with the Cats.
