Two things I don't want to see next year

I am looking forward to the next season and with what looks like a pretty good recruiting class I have two things I don't want to see next year. (Besides the obivous of a losing season)

1. That stupid logo on the shirts "Can I Trust You". It only puts doubt in our minds that nobody did.
2. The constant quote from Coach saying "They are not buying in". If they are not buying in again then it must be something more than that. It just might be they are not talented enough or the coaches do not know how to communicate with the team.

Hope we are able to turn this thing around and have some positive results this coming season.

Spot on on both points.

They need to be in the "Get it done!" or "Just do it!" mode.

Before you start ripping on what the coaches are doing and how its looks to you and think about the message they have for the team.

I think that's what we were doing.

I doubt anybody is ripping on the coaches.......it seems like they are programmatic observations.
I happen to agree......the atmosphere and attitude needs to be driven by statements that unify........words
like we,us, etc.. The coaches have to realize that while their signature is on the program, the players own it.

I don't care how its said or how its done . I just want to see us start kicking the other team's ass instead of the other way around.

No offense......but I think thats the desired outcome that everybody would like to see.
The fact is that the players and coaches have to figure it out and all we can do is observe, speculate, and support

No offense taken. I totally agree and Im glad you said "support " GO BEARS

I appreciate your words
I must add that it's interesting to read and hear about"insider information"
We are all somewhat biased based on our experiences as UNC students, ex athletes, parents, or just fans.
I hope we can continue to share perspectives, and remain open to respectful disagreement based in our unique perspectives.

I agree. Especially since I am about as far away from the program as one could be, I appreciate hearing what others have to say that are more "in the know" than I.

I know one thing I don't want to see next year, is 0-11 again. I don't give a f**k what these coaches do or bring in, just don't wanna see another 0-11 season.

I understand your point bearsfan24, but I think this programs bigger than wins and losses. Nobody wants a poor record much less 0 &11. From where I sit, integrity has been part of who we are. It may be my poor memory, but wasn't it five or six years ago when we had to endure the bad press that came as the result of a stabbing? That set us back a ways as a community. Before we start trading things for wins, lets look at the big picture. I do care what the coaches do and what the players do on and off the field, and we can win on both fronts with vision and leadership. We've done it before.

Glad I could bring a smile to your face. If you have time, could you please let me know specifically which part of my post was most laughable?

Sure "mountainbear" lemme grab my crayon so we can speak the same language.

From where you sit? Where is that exactly cause you speak like 0-11 is progress for vision and leadership. Winning on both fronts; how bout you win on a front (any front). From where you sit do you instill this integrity that speak of? The knife incident? That's your justification? Two kickers fighting ya I can see how jarring that must of been on a team an community. You know I think your either optimistic or delusional and part of the problem. Because you sound like what the problem would be on the inside BH. And in that case... Good luck.

What the hell did you just type?

Whoa there KlondikeBear.....Thanks for the crayon offer, but it's not needed.....at this time at least.
Please allow me to clarify things:
First off, I don't believe that I suggested that an 0 & 10 record is progress at all......Rather, I believe that vision and leadership is EXACTLY what's needed to get things moving in the right direction. I don't think that we saw much leadership from the coaching staff last season, much less vision last season. We did see panicked, short sighted people coaching under the pressure of "win now" mentality. We saw and heard players get thrown under the bus, and in a program scrambling to establish a) a new identity or b) recapture some of the old successful identity, that ploy results in win less seasons. I may be wrong KlondikeBear, but I sincerely believe that vision and leadership are the best tools to guide a program to success.
The integrity that I spoke of has to be modeled by the coaching staff. They will have had an off season to instill their perception of integrity in the players. To answer your question, where I sit has nothing to do with instilling integrity....again, it has everything to do with the messages that the staff imparts. Accountability falls on the coaches.....if they fail to define integrity, it will be evident in how the players carry themselves. I will also let you know that "where I sit" is vetted with years of experience....I may be wrong, but I believe that character is revealed by competition. We saw a lot of "characters" coaching last year, this year we should get another glimpse.
I have to agree with you......I may be delusional, and I an definitely optimistic. Again, I sincerely believe that people must be optimistic if positive change will occur.
Let me know what you think

I think I'm on the same page as you an I respect your willingness to stay patient and truly optimistic. But I must say from my "years of experience" a start like the one they had with the expansion of the Bis Sky...I don't know how you win games with this crew (excluding players). The integrity of the program doesn't just come by saying we need integrity. So thats my bathroom break blog post for the day. :)
