The men's team closes the season out with two rough road games versus Big Sky Conference leader Weber State on Thursday and Idaho State on Saturday. A minor miracle is needed to sneak their way into a conference tournament bid.

If you feel like making your head spin, click on the following link to Grizpack's post on egriz.com regarding BSC tournament scenarios. It makes my brain hurt.

Win two on the road with a "nothing at all to lose" attitude this week and let everything else sort itself out. If they miss the playoffs then so be it. Lots of tough breaks this season. Lots of close games lost and blown leads/opportunities but the future looks pretty bright. A situation that I haven't been privy to as a Lumberjacks fan previously that arose this season with two players (Matt Johnson and and Jermaine Calvin) being dismissed from the team. Part of me says this team may have not lived up to expectations this season but what do I know...I'm only a fan.

Honestly, I predict a 1-1 record on this week's roadtrip and missing out on a playoff bid. Common sense says give up and throw in my fan(atic) towel as being down to 8 total players and playing the league's best team bodes not well. But since when does being a fan mean being realistic? Go Jacks! Beat the Wildcats and Bengals!

The women's team finishes with three at home and two games against teams the Jacks are jockeying for playoff position/bids. Tough loss for them on Saturday vs. Sacramento State. Hope that one doesn't come back to haunt em at season's end. I'll admit that I haven't been as good with following the Lady Jacks team this season but I watched two of their last three games on bigskytv and think they can cause a stir in the tourney if they make it. The consistency hasn't been there this year but I think there is enough talent in place to make a run. If the U of Montana ends up hosting, which is up in the air as PSU has as good a chance at the moment, and the Jacks get a win then maybe I can make it over to Missoula for the game?

Regardless of it all, thanks to the coaches, players and broadcast crews for another Lumberjacks basketball season.

Going to be tough to sweep on the road - while Weber has the #1 seed locked down, they don't want a loss to NAU to affect potential NCAA seeding.

Sorry Mt. Jack,

I admire your loyalty and positive attitude, but I think the road sweep is too much to ask of this team. It was clear at the midpoint of the season that this team had problems winning games not only on the road, but also at home. Now, with the team down to only 8 players and no point guard, asking them to take down the #1 team in the conferance is like asking David to take down Goliath, but hey we all know how that story ended, so maybe a miracle could happen :P , yea...probably not. We do have young solid players that could take this team places in a couple of years.

As far as the women's team goes, they are certainly in the hunt for a spot in the tournament. Montana and Portland are on a differant level than the rest of the conferance, but spots 3-6 are all wide open. I don't know how the NAU women have managed to fight their way to 5th place, but let's not ask questions. They're in a great position right now as they play the last 3 games at home, and all of these games are winnable. I was dissapointed with their last loss to Sac St., but I think that if they win 2 out of 3, they will be in the tournament. Win all three and they might host a first round game. Sade Cunningham will be missed next season. She has been a jewel for NAU the past 4 years. I hope Laurie Kelly recruits some quality players next year, because this team needs some athletisism and skill in pretty much all positions.

Let's go NAU, finish the season strong!

Good luck making the BSC tourney this year NAU, if not, look forward to a rebound year next year, because with one of the BSC's best coaches (Baldy) NAU will be contenders before long.

NAU had a good recruiting class last year. I haven't heard about this year's class yet though. I think NAU will be in the upper half of the conf very soon.

Adras has had his team play in the last 3 Big Sky tourney title games.
