I'm pretty excited to watch this game. If any Davis fans are planning on making the trip to Ogden, please be aware that the Weather is supposed to be quite turbulent the second half of the week. Saturday is going to have late October type temperatures for kickoff. By the time the game ends, temps could be in the mid 40s. So, please bring warm clothes. Normally, a late September game in Ogden Utah, is a very nice experience, but; you're in the rockies!

I guess it all depends on your weather preference. I absolutely love watching football in the cold and snow. On a non-stormy day, I prefer 50°-60° temperatures. I decided to take a look at the climatology for September 23rd and compare to the forecast for this Saturday. Since I have over 20 years of data from my weather station at home I used my data. I'm up against the mountains like Stewart Stadium and at a similar altitude, just further south but it should be pretty comparable.

Cool info, thanks for providing. It's definitely going to be colder than the 72 degree average. That should benefit the team from Utah over the team from Cali.

Agreed!! This is definitely neat. I think weather and altitude will influence the way Davis comes out and plays.
Altitude will only effect them if they have been here for a couple of days. Football isn't an aerobic sport anyway. They only go at it for about 5 seconds and then they rest for 40 seconds. For football, there should be no altitude problems unless they are mental problems. The ball might fly a bit differently, but not enough to change anything. Cold weather would effect both teams the same way. Snow might be a game changer, but that isn't in the forecast. This game will come down to who executes the best and turn overs.

Gotta disagree with you there oldrunner. Altitude certainly has an effect. I never thought Ogden had a high enough elevation to really be an advantage like NAU has, but altitude absolutely has an effect with in-game recovery. No one takes 40 seconds between plays these days either.

Altitude most definitely can have a more immediate effect, anyone who has hiked extensively here in Utah can vouch for the difference several thousand feet of elevation can make in only several hours of time. Studies aren't going to convince me that what I feel and experience aren't real.

This is a big, early season game for both programs. The home field advantage is huge in this game. And while 4200' is not in the stratosphere, i think it will affect the Ags going into the second half. Got to take the Ags by 3.

Stewart Stadium sits at about 4,760' but no, not huge elevation like NAU, Wyoming, or Air Force.

"Cold weather would effect both teams the same way." Olds, I disagree with this too. If I'm a HC, I've got my team practicing all week in the colder temps so they've got some familiarity with it going into the game. I suspect it's a little more difficult for Davis to simulate it.

I like what's going on here at WSU. I don't believe Davis is this bad, but I'm becoming more of a Believer. Something really good is going on at Weber. There's that and of course the altitude, cold, and rain.
😂

Awesome win by the Wildcats and great conditions to watch the game in. Defense looks likes they cleaned a few thing up. Either that, or the D-line was just too dominating that it masked any deficiencies. I do worry that we weren't able to see much in the way of sustained drives by the offense, instead it was mostly big play, big strike scoring. I'm excited for this season to keeping playing out, it could be a really good one.

Weber ran 49 plays compared to 80 by Davis. When you see a score of 41-3 you'd rarely think the team who has 41 points ran only 49 plays. Efficient!! Can't complain about much. The offensive and defensive lines were awesome yesterday. Cantwell had lots of time and Maier was constantly being hurried. Fun game to watch!!

Note to Dave Fox on KJZZ, I know you really don't care about Weber St, but at least call them the right name. Kept calling them the Aggies.
