Altitude will only effect them if they have been here for a couple of days. Football isn't an aerobic sport anyway. They only go at it for about 5 seconds and then they rest for 40 seconds. For football, there should be no altitude problems unless they are mental problems. The ball might fly a bit differently, but not enough to change anything. Cold weather would effect both teams the same way. Snow might be a game changer, but that isn't in the forecast. This game will come down to who executes the best and turn overs.PURPLEFORLIFE said:SWeberCat02 said:Cool info, thanks for providing. It's definitely going to be colder than the 72 degree average. That should benefit the team from Utah over the team from Cali.SWWeatherCat said:talhadfoursteals said:I'm pretty excited to watch this game. If any Davis fans are planning on making the trip to Ogden, please be aware that the Weather is supposed to be quite turbulent the second half of the week. Saturday is going to have late October type temperatures for kickoff. By the time the game ends, temps could be in the mid 40s. So, please bring warm clothes. Normally, a late September game in Ogden Utah, is a very nice experience, but; you're in the rockies!
I guess it all depends on your weather preference. I absolutely love watching football in the cold and snow. On a non-stormy day, I prefer 50°-60° temperatures. I decided to take a look at the climatology for September 23rd and compare to the forecast for this Saturday. Since I have over 20 years of data from my weather station at home I used my data. I'm up against the mountains like Stewart Stadium and at a similar altitude, just further south but it should be pretty comparable.

Agreed!! This is definitely neat. I think weather and altitude will influence the way Davis comes out and plays.

Go Ags
The Dan said:Gotta disagree with you there oldrunner. Altitude certainly has an effect. I never thought Ogden had a high enough elevation to really be an advantage like NAU has, but altitude absolutely has an effect with in-game recovery. No one takes 40 seconds between plays these days either.
