UC Davis game

Have fun watching the game y'all.
I am going to miss it (going to the Bill Burr show in Washington DC tonight). Lets hope the Bears keep it rolling and the offense plays fearless.

GO BEARS!

Horrible performance from avery aspect of the game. Worst I have seen the offensive line in years. UC Davis is NOT a good team, we should have won this game if we want to progress as a program. Horrible.

I really just assumed we would win this one. Glad I wasn't around to watch this mess. Ugh.

Earnest Collins Jr. needs to wear this one. I don't care what else happens in the game, if you punt inside your opponent's 40-yard line twice, you deserve to lose. Simple as that.

Even after the loss to EWU I was starting to foolishly believe that the defense could turn things around against the rest of the conference and we would compete, but the UC Davis loss shows that nothing has changed...

Sadly, I totally agree with you Miguel ! I am trying to be as optimistic as all hell but how much more pain do we have to go thru ?

Well, it looks like we're back to suckin guys. An inexcusable loss, go on the road a lay the biggest egg ever. Defense absolutely blows, they probably would have trouble stopping some 1A high school team. Too many costly penalties. I thought UNC played Eastern Washington kinda tough, I felt like if they play like that they could win some games. But after seeing yesterday they could go in downward spiral and not win another game.

This is now the most obvious of the season of the horrific play calling made by both OC and DC. When we see that, especially when it occurs week after week, it lands solely and squarely on the head coach's shoulders. He has created an environment of lackluster performance by his coaching staff; accepted a complete lack of urgency and directly caused this team to lose. There is no other reason to accept than that. There has been no 'play to win' mentality coming from this staff. That starts at the top. He can't even decide who his critical players are and let them rise to the top. Until that happens, we will always be the peewee team of the Big Sky. Such a shame, too as we do have some very talented guys if the coach would get out of the way and play them to their abilities. He stated the team needs to figure out what kind of team they want to be. I think that's a more introspective comment for you, Coach Collins. And then apply that to your entire staff, starting with the OC and DC. Sad for the young men on this team. They work too hard to have this group of clowns at the helm.

It's frustrating to see the defense more than the offense. We're a different team when Trae is in there, but he has been hurt. The defense seems to make zero adjustments. Whenever there was a 3rd and 7 or whatever, the Davis QB always found a tighten in the middle of the field to simply dump the ball off to. There wasn't a LB or Safety near 5 yards of the receiver. This happened all game long. So...either the players are missing their assignments or the coaches aren't making adjustments.

bahahaha! Now thats funny. But typical - don't fret, they'll be given plenty of time to redeem themselves. #year6ofthesame!

Why do we keep acting like this team is bad again? They were never good to start with. The best win this year was against an NAU team that is average at best. Abilene Christian is 0-7 and the other is an NAIA team. Good news is I really stopped caring last week. (At least until Collins is done). Apathy level is almost maximum lol.

I would disagree with you. It's not the team, necessarily. It's the coaching. Poor calling and bad coaching overall have put talented players into losing games over and over. This is the root of my frustration.

Hmmm...lets ponder this for just a moment. Their offense repeatedly took it to the house..the distance of the field, holding the ball for multiple sets of downs. Our offense was lucky to get a first down. QB overthrew, sacked, 3 & out, O line didn't protect, ran same 2 guys practically all day. If I'm their D.C., it wasn't difficult to make adjustments at halftime, we run the same plays over and over. And then seem surprised every second half this year. Really? Come on. We have to mix it up more than this. Plan an entire game. Make adjustments for their adjustments instead of nosediving every game when they figure out our game plan. Isn't this collegiate football? Punting when we were losing on their side of the field...that said it all for our plan to win. And if Trae R is the only plan we have as a running attack on offense, the coaching staff is far too limited in the game plan, coaching style, and all should be fired.
