We've had our bouts with terrible secondary play. It's getting better, but that and inconsistent special teams play has turned a couple of close games into losses.

Thank you for the high compliments. The squad definitely has talent, but execution is the difference between being 3-5 and 6-2. As mentioned earlier, this is a fairly young team, so there is tons of room for the team to grow. I must say, you guys down there at UC Davis have a great campus and a nice stadium. I had a great experience down there.

Did any of you guys watching the game on Big Sky TV see that guy dancing? I was in the stadium and they kept showing a Viking fan dancing. He was awesome. I saw that the PSU athletics Twitter account tweeted this video.

The last four games the defense has let in 24, 10, 35 and 21 for a total of 90 points or 22.5 points per game compared to the first four games when they averaged 41.5 points a game. Against Northern AZ our offense scored 10 points and against Cal Poly our offense scored 18 points and our defense scored 7. I believe we have only had 6 TD's thrown through the air over the last four games compared to 15 TD's in the first four games.
This changed occurred when Burton took over the defense and made a couple changes. In big games we need our Offense to show up and keep the Defense off the field. I think the defense has shown up in all of the last four games. I don't think 35 points by Cal Poly was too much considering they ran a 100 plays and our defense must have gotten a bit tired being on the field for 42 out of 60 minutes.
That is my take at this point in the season. If they all show up to play on both sides of the ball every game I think we win out but I don't think we have a problem on defense anymore and it can only get better.

I agree that the defense has been improving. Too bad they weren't playing this way right out of the gate. Also agree with your point about the offense. Thet need to stay on the field and control possession more. They have periods during games where they go 3 and out which puts too much pressure on the D.
