UC Davis @ Portland State- Guess the score

UC Davis lost to Western Washington (DII) today, they will come in more hurt then us. 16K should be at the game

PSU 41
UC Davis 17

I have no idea what the score will be...this team is still discovering itself down here. Our secondary is young, we made a lot of mistakes and just didn't look our usual crisp selves on offense. If we played like midseason form we probably score about 50 points against Western Washington, but as it is, we only get 21 off of 3 very wide open plays.

We have a ton of young talent, and they were all over the field last Saturday making great plays. They just need some gametime experience to get their bearings.

PSU is the Aggies first physical test of the season, WWU passed it up all over the place, and their QB played very well. If PSU tries to grind it out, they won't be incredibly successful. The play action will be very effective for the Viks. It'll be an interesting game, but this won't be a blow out for either team.

PSU - 31
UC Davis - 27

Home team edge in this one...I can't wait to be back in the ole' Civic...er PGE Park. Also can't wait to see the run n' shoot go to work. This will be a fun game to watch!

Well my last prediction against WWU wasn't very accurate, but let's see...

Yes - we are coming in hurt/dismayed from the Week 1 battle. And our youth and lack of field experience is showing. But I expect our guys to be fired up and wanting to prove themselves.

I don't think we will win (be happy if we did), but I wouldn't expect a blowout. I think our D will give up too many points again (due to secondary), but I expect our offense to be better with receivers actually catching TD balls and QBs making more accurate passes (god I hope so!). If our offense stays on the field longer to score, I expect to see a number of TDs, just not all for one of the teams.

So my prediction:
38 PSU
28 UCD

UC Davis 27
PSU 24

A surprise start at QB from RS FR Greg Denham jump starts the Aggie offense, and the "new era" of Aggie football officially starts.

Never count out a program with 37 straight winning seasons.

Wow SochorField. I HIGHLY doubt Denham will start, let alone play. Biggs has been around long enough that as much as he might second guess himself, he will still trust his instinct. But who knows - we went for fourth down at the outset of the WWU game, so crazy things are not impossible.

It sounds like both teams are searching for their offense.

Final score

PSU-17
UCDAVIS-10

attendance around 15k

The Portland State University Vikings: 44
UC Davis: 9

Red zone failures will be addressed and JG will not stand for another crappy defensive performance.
