UC Davis Thread

I'm worried about Tygue's injury, but regardless Brian looked better out there anyway, and his stats back it up. The biggest concern is bobby, he was the hart and soul of the team last night, without him......

When they cart you off its a bad thing. When I tore my ACL Dr. Colville the team physician was able to grab my knee with his hands and tell me that it was torn.

He can make the sound of a properly connected ACL resonate by moving the the two parts of your leg around, if he cannot make the sound its because it is not connected.
The MRI only confirms it so Im assuming if Colville has looked at Bobby's knee and says its torn Id bet its torn.

I hope the best for him and know what he's going through

ExVik is right I have seen some of the techniques used by Physicians and Orthopedic Surgeons in person and they don't really need an MRI. The MRI is basically used to get insurance companies to fork the dough over.

Did Colville say it was torn, or are we speculating?

Speculation on my part I was just agreeing with Exvik that the Docs can tell without an MRI whats is going on in an injury.

Bad news weekend:

1. Lost big
2. Defense did not show up
3. Bobby out for the season
4.UC Davis loses to Western Washington

It can't get any worse for the Viks. Glanville's job just got a lot more difficult.

Strength of schedule took a blow with Davis losing to DII. Does any one know what happened down there on Saturday?

When you mix in rookies with opening gameday jitters, dropped passes, personal fouls, qb's overthrowing the ball, zero pass defense, nearly zero pass rush and an opposing team that is apparently hungrier than you are with a solid gameplan that executes, well, it just wasn't a good opening day for us.

I hope the viks offense shows up against UCDAVIS. Mackins coming back is going to give us a lift in both field position and catching the ball. I've never been a fan of a qb rotation, and think it hurt us against MSU. I hope that White can prove he is the guy against UCDAVIS. MSU is a very good football team and not a team you want to work your kinks out agianst and it showed. Bobby being out for the season hurts our balance on O, but if we can get the passing game going we will finish second in the Big Sky. The defense will improve they were put in some tough situation against a fast team. Our problems are fixauble with the exception of injures.

Just because Davis lost to Western Washington doesn't mean we can take them lightly. That is a very good program that has shown improvement every year. Our loss was probably well deserved. I think theirs was a fluke.

I always assume the worst.

What is the chance of a medical redshirt?

I hope Brian starts, he got the least amount of protection and still did better then Howland. Howland was always an inch off on his passes, which made all the difference.

I'm relieved that the kicking game seems to be in good hands with Chalmers. That is one major offseason concern that we no longer have to worry about.

42.0 yards per punt by Urrego ain't too shabby either.

I think they'll just use the regular redshirt. Less than one full game usually doesn't burn it. Since he played as a true freshman, he has it available.

What are people's thoughts in general about out OL protection. I saw the game via internet streaming, and to me it looked like our QB's were hurried too often. But the small video stream made it hard to see for sure.

I felt the same way, but I guess I chalked it up to McNeese having what appeared to be a good, deep DL.

I think your right, the OL didn't do their job. Just look at the rushing totals and sacks allowed. I've been worried about the line since Gray and St. John left due to grades. Hopefully, the JC guys will pick things up after some game experience.

Are you talking about PSU?!
