UC Davis vs Portland State - Thread

I am looking forward to making another trek to PGE Park for this weekends game. We are looking to put together our 3rd win in a row and keep the momentum going. Hopefully it doesn't rain too much. Stop on by our board if you want, http://www.aggiesportstalk.com

Take it easy on us. Score: UC Davis - a bunch, PSU not so much.

This season is driving me to drink.

I am hoping that we continue what we have started in the last few games and win another one. I read in The Oregonian article that Hubel should be coming back for this game, is that still the case?

Sounds like it. He was suited for the NAU game, but had a heavy wrap job on his knee.

I would like us to win this one, so I can witness one winning game this year. I didn't go to the SOU game. lol

What is the latest on your QB?

As of three days ago:

Injury update: The Vikings hope to have junior quarterback Drew Hubel back for Saturday's non-conference game against the UC Davis Aggies at PGE Park after he sat out the Northern Arizona game with an injured left knee.

Good. I hope you guys are at full strength. I see you lost to Suc State. Any comments on their team this year? Was the game as lopsided as the score?

Yep, unfortunately it was. We came out flat, made mistakes, and dug a big hole for us. Turnovers and red zone failures are not a good way to dig yourself out of a hole.

Sac State is moving their program in the right direction. They came out with a balanced game plan and played mistake free football.

I thought Hubel was a senior?

Hubel is a Junior. That high scoring game with Weber was his freshman year.

This is from tonight's game notes from Goviks.com:

QB Drew Hubel missed last week’s game after suffering a subluxation of his left knee cap late in the win at Northern Colorado (Oct. 10). Hubel had never missed a game due to injury in his career despite dislocating his thumb late in his freshman season. He is doubtful this week... in his place, SO QB Connor Kavanaugh should make his second career start.

Now, an honest question... Kavanaugh seemed to have a really hard time with his touch on some passes last week. Did rain seem to play a factor with that, or is that always a problem for him? Sure is fun to watch run though.

I suspect he doesn't see over the crowd as well as Hubel. And, he isn't as disciplined staying in the pocket - running is always an option for him, and sometimes too soon. That lack of discipline shows in the interceptions, I think. Hubel is the best we've got at this point, until Kavanaugh shows us otherwise. I keep hoping a miracle freshman will show up out of nowhere, but it ain't going to happen.

Hey guys, what's the latest on Hubel? Did he practice today? Or is this Glanville's master plan, to keep us guessing.

Looking for a good game Saturday!

Looks like out posts past like two ships in the night. Thanks for the link and sorry to hear Hubel is out.
