Learning moment...playoffs still a huge reality with some key losses. Regroup and play better football. Should had that one. Up 2 scores under 8 minutes just needed some key plays and better conditioning.

Learning moment....Yes we should’ve won that one. Up 2 scores under 8 minutes on the road (mental toughness?). But with some key losses today playoffs are still a reality. Bengals looked really good...great until the end. Tough loss but I learned we have a really good football team. Go bengals!

Learning moment....Yes we should’ve won. I learned we have a great football team that didn’t put it away when it should’ve. Playoffs still a reality (Gris loss is awesome!) and we have another week to get better. Go Bengals! So close just do it guys!

Dang should’ve been in the win column. So close guys. Playoffs still a huge possibility. Tough loss, up 2 scores under 8 minutes and it evaporates.

I really think the heat and humidity took its toll on the team down the stretch. Give UCD credit, hell of a comeback effort.

Thought the play calls for ISU in OT were interesting, maybe they thought they could catch UCD looking pass...we'll never know.

Now what will be very interesting is having to make a cross country flight coming off a tough loss against a decent FBS team next Saturday.

Also here is your trivia note for that game.

It will mark only the 5th time in ISU football history the Bengals will play a game East of the Mississippi River.

November 6, 2010 @ Georgia L 56-7
September 10, 2005 @ Kentucky L 41-29 (Had the game won, blew it in the last five minutes)
August 31, 1996 @ Ole Miss L 38-14
November 19, 1970 @ Tampa L 68-7

What about the game against Utah State which took place in Japan in the 1970's? ;)

With 9 mins left ESPN’s probability of an ISU victory was listed at 95% on the graph on their site. (Uhhh?)

Was watchin’ on my phone. But since I had to drive somewhere I turned it off and “assumed” a victory. What the heck happened? Where did the defense give way? (Line? Secondary? Or?) We gave up 532 yards!!! Probability of a win when giving up 532 yards??? 5% I’d guess.

That's not East of the Mississippi River from the U.S. perspective is it? Outlier. :D

I'm with Razorpa, I turned off my phone too and came back to a shocker!
So how can our team win games when defense is giving up almost 400 yds in the 2nd half? What's going on?

1. Fatigue
2. Playing against a damn good opponent with a receiver who'll be in the NFL next year and a quarterback who may be as well in a season or two.

It happens.

Gang let's not get greedy here. This is still a work in progress as Rob will tell you himself. You don't turn 40 years of losing basically around over night. 4-2 is nothing to be upset about. Even if they lose next week at Liberty (and they very well could) a LOT of progress is being made. They can certainly win another two or three games and have a very good season. I don't know about you but if someone said before the year, "I'll guarantee you they'll win six or seven games" I'd take that in a heartbeat...no questions asked and say thank you very much!

Perspective please.

This.

Geez, the team was picked to finish 10th or 12th, depending on media or coaches. This team can play with anybody in the FCS.

The bad fans start to come out and jump on a bandwagon. Don't believe me, read the comments to the Idaho State Journal story. Some nut named Ronald Long is going ballistic on the local director of broadcasting for ISU. And he's talking about games like North Dakota which is completely under the control of UND broadcasting. He's getting mean and personal.

Seriously, fans like these need to go somewhere else. Fast.

PBP, Agreed.

Interesting that my ‘question’ as to “where did the D give way” was perceived to & responded to as criticism and then translated as bad-fans-men-ship by others. Sheeezzz, just a question of how after achieving a 95% probability of winning (with 9 mins to go) we were able to lose a sure win. Fair question from a couple fans who missed the last 9 mins of the game.

And “ANYONE” with a pulse has to love and support coach Phen and what he’s accomplished. (No criticism here, nor was it expressed).
