UC Riverside Highlanders

They're playing Air Force today before us. We'll see how that goes. RPI per ESPN 247. RPI-wise they'd be 8th in the Big Sky just after Northern AZ. They have beaten the two bottom dwellers of the Big Sky, MSU and SoUtah.

They also dominated La Verne, but surely...they shall not prevail.

One concern is their 6'10" Aussie center. Not quite the 7'5" guy from NMSU, but still, we don't have size in the paint. I can see Osborne getting two quick fouls and sitting, putting Barden on the center, and freeing up their leading scorer, Johns. But it sounds like they're a one-and-a-half trick pony who can be defeated easily by a well-rounded, well-executing team. Hopefully that's the Bears team that shows up.

I never get cocky when UNC is involved, our athletic department seems to have a talent for losing in the most humiliating ways.

10.5 point favorites according to a goog search.

Does the cafeteria still have burritos, and then deep fry the leftovers and call them chimichangas the next day?

How can you be on the riverside but be a highlander? The cliffs of California are coming to Greality I guess.

Well they did beat Montana State and Southern Utah.
Check out these stats (UNC's in parentheses):

POINTS PER GAME
66.8 Ranked 296th (76.3 Ranked 111th)

REBOUNDS PER GAME
33.4 Ranked 277th (38.4 Ranked 82nd)

ASSISTS PER GAME
11.1 Ranked 294th (13.4 Ranked 151st)

FIELD GOAL PCT
.437 Ranked 219th (.485 Ranked 43rd)

Those are nice stats Bri. Serious differential in talent.

Hopefully we come out firing unlike the last two div one outings.

Welcome to Butler-Hancock, we're so glad you could make it.

I'll be listening to Troys call on this one. Getting up at 5:00 every morning, and a 9:00pm Maryland time start will find me falling asleep sometime in the 2nd half. Hopefully we have a nice lead by then.

Same here. Eastern time is not good for sports!

It's great for English Premier League soccer though. Games start at 8:00am and are done by 1:00pm. :D

Holy Crap... What is the deal with the 1976 game feed. Horrible picture, rolling static bar, and on and off black and white? I would assume the school at least has the funds to purchase a better camera. If the feed was better, I would pay a couple of bucks a game to watch.... But, it's free, so I guess I get what I paid for, and its better than nothing, I just expected more...

I am playing the big sky video in one window and the big sky audio in another. It isn't exactly synced but it is better than nothing.

BStv stuff is in transition at Butler-Hancock. Because the conference is mandating that there be access to instant replay courtside at every game, things have gotten shifted around and are still being worked out.

Yea, really ugly but the outcome was beautiful ! I thought UC Riverside came out flying to the ball and we just played ugly enough to beat them. Maybe there is something to the phrase, "good teams find a way to win" !! Go Bears !
