Looks like the bruins are favored by about 9...UCLA has had a down year and does not look that good this year.

If the Eags play like they can and shoot well, they have a decent shot at winning this.

If Chiverton is more of a team player (i.e. pass & take good shots) we should win this thing by 10. If not, we lose by 10. I am thinking that he starts to get the message from Coach and responds. Go Eagles. Is the game on TV anywhere? Is it being shown anywhere? I live on the north side, so it would be great if a bar up there was carrying it like they did for football.

Agree with 1990. I think Chiverton (along with improving our defense without fouling) is the key to the season. It seems like the other guys are pretty consistent. I hear the "experts" often talk about how it takes about half a year for junior college guys to adjust to Division 1 but I was hoping it would be a little quicker for Chiv as he had already been at St Mary's for a year. It is definitely time for him to stop being a gunner and pass once in a while and take better shots.

If anybody finds out if the game is on TV tonight, please let us know where/what channel. I think we have good chance to get a big road win!

I agree with both old time and 90....Chiverton is a stud, but needs to take better shots. This would be a GREAT win for Eastern and I think the team can pull it off. I also agree that is does take time for transfers to adjust, hopefully just in time for conference play, which is what really matters in the big sky (no chance for an at large bid).

Montana beat them last year and EWU has never played them so might as well get that 1st one tonite...a winable game. It's on Fox West Tv and of course on radio...be listening to it.

Tough to win games when you go down by double digits on the road in the first half. Have to run the stalling offense due to 9 players, this is ugly to watch, need to make some shots.

Doing a great job on the boards. Don't know about slowing it down though. All the teams that have beaten UCLA have done so by taking advantage of their speed. Let's go Eagles.

That was an ugly game to watch. Ucla is going to have a very long year. They are a bad team. We missed a good opportunity. Most telling statistics. We shot 26%. Chiverton 6 for 22 with 0 assists. Only 5 assists as a team compared to 13 for them. Doing the stall game kept the margin of defeat low but I didnt see an improvement over Cal Fullerton. Yeah we "only" had nine players but we only play nine regularly anyway. Only player out was Winfred and he averages low minutes. We have work to do. Thankfully we have another division 3 team coming to town. Hopefully we can hang another 100 on a team. Don't think we will be doing rope-a-dope again.

I have to agree with 1990...slow down/hold-the-ball game was bad idea. UCLA's front line is big and strong and slow. We needed to use our speed and quickness advantage tonight like we did against GU. I am not sure what Coach was thinking in this game. Hold the ball until the end of the shot clock and then be forced to take a bad shot? Middle Tennessee and Loyola Marymount beat UCLA and they have teams like us.

In reading the story today and looking at the stats, we did pretty darn good. The effort on the boards is to be commended and the fact the team executed the game plan. I was on GoEags site and noticed the headline that the "Game plan worked". It didn't. We lost. Though some good things came out. We still lost. One could argue that the plan didn't work at all given that UCLA was favored by 9 points and we lost by 13. So, going in and based upon the record and style of play of UCLA and our record and style of play, the bookies (who are paid to handicap games) picked a 9 point loss for us. We deviated from our style of play for the first half and get outscored by 10 points. In the second half we played normal and got outscored by 3 points. I appreciate that hindsight is 20/20, but it appears we may been better served by playing it straight the entire game. That being said, we did some very good things such as fewer turnovers and rebounding. We will get a win tomorrow night and get some much needed momentum.
