Bad first series, followed by a trick play by Montana and they're up by 7. Lobato has a great 2nd series and leads the Bears down the field for the tie! Let's go defense!

Anyone having issues with the sound being extremly low?

Try going to kpax, it's montan's tv station and they have free streaming. Probably a little better than bigskytv.org

Montana up by 40 points and not even in the 4th qt. Why are we even FCS? We wouldn't finish in the top half of the RMAC.

The talent on this team is just so unbelievably bad, we wouldn't win a game with Urban Meyer coaching this year.

I caught the last 5 minutes of the first half and was surprised at how well we were doing, at first, then reality came creeping back in so I decided to take a nap and missed the second half--sounds like I made the right choice.

It sounded like there were quite a few freshman playing and playing well. Is that the case? As craptacular as this team appears to be, if Collins is getting great effort out of the freshmen then I think it is a good idea to bench the older players who aren't "buying in." If we have 22 young players playing inspired football, it seems that this program will turn around in a year or two.

The "unbelievably bad" talent you speak of took Weber to 4 OTs on the road and gave the 2010 FCS National Champion a scare gobears.......The thing you're ignoring is the disconnect between the coaches and the players (Both sides are culpable---Collins and staff have made some decisions that have made their culture change harder....)...If the upperclassmen aren't buying in, bench 'em and play the youngsters and grow with them. I'm tired of watching these blowout losses.

I guess I would rather have blowout losses because it enables me to turn the game off early and stop wasting my time. When I think about it, I don't think Downing's close losses were in any way better than these blowouts because he always found a way to lose. It would have been one thing if he pulled out a win once in a while but he never did. A loser's a loser

Why are people white washing this, we are embarrassingly bad... 0-11 I guarantee it, please prove me wrong, please!

Maybe this new staff can turn it around but it's a big maybe. I think the big disapointment is that new coaches come in with other programs and teams show sparks right away and don't regress to square one like this team has. Think about it, we're as bad was we've ever been, ever...

Here's my favorite line from the Montana game postgame notes on the UNC website: "Montana had 444 yards of total offense, the lowest total by an opponent this year." Has this season already gotten so desperate that the only stats the sports information director (SID) could come up were that the Bears held their opponent to under 450 yards of offense and Bumpas had 14 tackles?

UNC SID= The Worst job In America?

I don't envy Troy either. To have to call the games week in and week out has to be painful. On the flip side, he called a ton of crappy basketball seasons and last season had to make up for all the previous pain.

The thing you're ignoring is that we lost out top two rushers, top receiver and top four tacklers from last year's team. I think we're seeing the upperclassmen that aren't buying in being benched, 12 freshmen saw the field yesterday, plus Bumpas and Hildreth that are both new to the program. I think the fact that so many young guys are playing is a big factor in our struggles, but there are quite a few of them that show promise and getting them experience is a plus for the program.

Quite frankly, I'm willing to give Collins a mulligan for this year.

Yup, I've said it before. We had ZERO all-conference players returning. There's not much JR and SR talent. Younger talent, yes, but missing guys like Eddy and Askew who took away half the field on defense and losing guys like Harris and Davis on offense will hurt too. Just look at all the redshirt and true freshman who are playing. No wonder we're getting killed. Some of that is due to injuries and having no depth like our LB's. Gavin Miller and Cameron Friend are hurt, so we've got to go with freshman.

Focus on some of the young talent like Hildreth and Bumpas. Bumpas should be all-conference this year and he's only a RS Sophomore. This kids is something. Looks like he's made some mistakes in life and turned it around. He will be a great player for this team. :thumb: Hildreth is a good runner but we've got no blocking up front.
